I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer on Nov 8 2022 with metastasis to my pelvis lymph nodes, and bone. My Psa was 1024 yes thats correct 1024. They did a byopsy and I had a gleason score of 4+3=7. My Oncologist statred me on hormone therapy right away, gave me 2 shot in my abdomen area. 2 weeks ago I started taking 2 tablets of nubeqa in the morning and 2 in the evening. This week I will start 6 rounds of chemo. Im feeling pretty good. Sticking to a strick diet. My Psa last dropped to 53 still high but a stark difference from 1024. Thank you for sharing your story. 🙏

I was diagnosed over 3 years ago with stage 4 Gleason 8 and PSA OF 93 started out with 2 firmagon shots and then Lupron and 44 radiation treatments. After that my wife got me Into Mayo. When I started at Mayo they found a spot on my spine and did a targeted radiation. After that they found a spot on my rib and in a lymph node got those with cryo ablation after that they found 4 spots on my spine and I had 9 Chemo sessions to get rid of them. Was good for 6 months and then found a spot on my rib and had a targeted radiation for that. Going back to Mayo for my 3 month check beginning of February. It’s seems to be a never ending battle but as long as they can keep it at bay and at 68 I can still enjoy my life it’s worth the fight and they are always coming out with new treatments. Good luck to you on beating this disease.

So comforting to find other men in the same boat so we can share experiences and points of view. My journey started about 4 years ago as my PSA went from 4 to 7 to 11 to 14 and now 24. Two biopsies with negative results. Then an MRI guided biopsy that turned up positive for adenocarcinoma of the prostate. Going in for a PSMA Pet scan next week and then the Dr said he will recommend treatment after the results of the scan are in. CyperK radiation and hormone therapy is what the initial recommendation is. Gleason score 3+4 and two areas of 3+3. So far looks contained in the prostate.....hoping for results that confirm that. Stay strong gents we are all in this together. Age is 78.

The side effects from surgery are still present but I'm happy I had the surgery. I am currently undetectable. Thank you for sharing Harry. Keep up the courage and good mood. You are not alone, we're walking a similar journey... My psa in late 2021 went up to 144! 😀 I accepted to receive a 3months injection of luteinizing hormone therapy for the 2nd time.... was not enthusiastic about it... I hate the side effects. I decided, never again these hormones in my body Instead, took decision to address my metabolic condition... - Managing inflammation level - Initial screening of bacteria, parasites and other infection might be useful, and treat accordingly... As well as sugar/carbs qty feeding inflammation. Also practice of restricted feeding window could further contribute - More plant-based and spiced diet... hotter chilli perpers (contain capsaicins), black peper, curcumin, turmeric, ginger, horseradish, etc... Minimal animal protein - Regular physical activity and/or exercises... but not too intense, for not triggering much inflammation. The goal is to give healthy part of the body the fitness advantage, with good oxygen! - Some of the supplements I use... Quercetine, Fisetine, Resveratrol, Curcumin, Vitamin D3, K2, C, some B's too, minerals, Magnesium, Zinc-bisglycinate, ... Sometimes at night, 2 to 3 hours before sleep I take some melatonin, 40 to 80 mgr - Regular visiting a sauna, for the heat and relaxing.... making sure to include the ice cold bath or shower part of it. Very energizing! These days, I do it just home... After hot shower, it's winter, I go out in the cold while drying myself with towel! :) Lately, I am thinking to start with hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions! Doing most of the above, I am feeling fine since my last hormone therapy in nov. 2021. Diagnosed in sep.2019 My next adventure in this journey is to do serious prolonged fasting. Last month I tried a two days dry fasting, it felt easier than I though, thus very doable! Dry fast seems easier than the wet version. But to stay on the safer side, would be good not to exceed three days... For those interested in dry fasting stuff, the channel "The Phoenix Protocol" has some good information about this subject. Author of a book with same title. The two most important books that have inspired me, and gave me hope are... "The China Study," by Colin Campbell and "How To Starve Cancer" by Jane McLelland This is how I try to survive these days. In case all of these will fail me... I want to accept the defeat and then just go under, but no conventionals again... 😀 But positively curious though about the Lutetium!

@@larryseward1951 Larry, thanks for your interest. I am 75 and have been on Lupron for several years now to help control my PSA. Currently, due to the Lutetium 177 (Pluvicto) I do not have any "active" metastasis. My 4th of 6 infusions is in 2 weeks and there is a possibility, if my PSA and scans continue to be favorable, that I will not have to continue with further infusions. In the past I have had multiple metastatic lymph nodes and some "spots" on ribs. The worst was a significant lesion on my pelvis (PSA 32.60) that was successfully dealt with by cryoablation. This was the highest for my PSA, I never did have extreme numbers like some patients. My cancer has been extremely persistent. After 6 weeks of targeted radiation therapy in 2017 my PSA was undetectable (

I was 64 years old when I had the biopsy confirming I had cancer. The biopsy showed cancer cells in all 12 of the core samples. My gleason score was 4+3. I believed and still do that the most effective way to remove prostate cancer cells is a prostatectomy. Had i been older maybe 78 or 80 I probably would not have had any treatment. I was completely without symptoms when I had the surgery done. I found out four years after the prostatectomy that the cancer had spread to my right lung.

My husband was diagnosed 2 years ago with stage 4 prostate cancer. He chose to do nothing no matter what I had researched. His PSA at that time was 32, last year it was at 80. Last year he also had a minor stroke which has weakened his left side which caused him to fall a few times & pulled his back. He’s been to physical therapy for balance but it didn’t do him any good. He walks kinda bent over & his left leg is still a bit weak plus his knees crack. (Yeah, at 74 & always been considered a large man 6’2”, 250lbs) he’s not aging well.) And he is also having some memory loss. Geez. I keep asking if he would like to do the radiation & hormone shots they wanted to do two years ago but on his very good days, he’s adamant he doesn’t & that he truly feels fine…it’s just what the minor stroke did to him that he’s having to deal with. So, he’ll be seen again by his urologist in October & we’ll find out how high his PSA levels are but I’ve read that even with levels over 1000 you can still feel fine. As his wife I truly hope the cancer gets him before his mind goes because that is worse than any of this.

For the next year I had to defecate urgently within 15 minutes of eating each meal. That annoying side effect went away after a year or a bit longer. After the five high intensity radiation sessions to a tumor in my lung I had in September 2021 I noticed no symptoms. I do now have a tumor on the sheath of my spinal cord. I too was diagnosed with prostate cancer stage 4 which had metastasized to my lymph nodes in the pelvic area, I was given lupron & cosdex but I didn't have a good feeling about my doctors I felt as if instead of trying to cure me they were going string me along so I did my research and found a cancer team at another well-known hospital in my area, when my next appointment was due 3 months later they immediately took me off the lupron and & replace it with Eliguard & xtendi. I immediately. changed my diet to green vegetable drinks & whole foods and added blueberries, Raspberries, blackberries, and cherries exercise, moderate weight training, and added (Qi gong ) oh my PSA was 35 now it's 0.1 I was diagnosed in March of 2022 in January of 2023 in went back for a CT scan and was told my cancer was in remission, The doctors had talked about radiation treatments so I asked about the radiation and was told by both doctors, there was nothing there to radiate. Oh, I must say I followed Fork over knives food plans and I added salmon ( Wild caught flown in from Alaska ). When I go back in March I'm going to see if I can get a ( pet ) Scan. Most of all I still have my prostate and I asked why my prostate wasn't removed and was told it doesn't need to be as of now. Buy yourself the best juicer you can afford and follow fork-over knives get plenty of good vegetables and non-farm-raised salmon and keep hope alive. Oh, drink lots of PH water. And keep the faith and if you decide to follow such a plan do not let anyone tell you this don't work.

Hi Elite Trader, first you may not have any distant metastases, only local spread which may still be cured with radiation. I am Gleason 7 and had surgery in 2021 followed by salvage radiation and 6 months Lupron. Currently I am in remission and getting checked every 3-6 months. You should initiate the radiation soon since the results are improved if PSA is under .5 and even better if under .2 when beginning salvage radiation. Good luck.

@@stitcheruk1150 look like chemo is effective in your case and that's a good sign for recovery. In my dad's case chemo therapy PSA was never down after completing 22 cycles. As per my doctor it depends on body to body. I suggest you please get in touch with you doctor for regular checkups. Also, I m not a doctor so whatever I mentioned is based on my dad's treatment given by the doctor.

How old are you now? I turned 70 Sept and my Gleason score was 9 last Dec.9. but it was confined to the prostate. This Feb. I am asked by my Doctor to decide prostatectomy or other process of treatment. How is that?
@larryseward1951
@larryseward1951 Жыл бұрын
I am 71 years old. There are a lot of factors in that decision. A 9 is a high Gleason. You might ask your doctor the chances that your cancer will metastasize with that Gleason score. That will give you more information to help you decide what treatment you choose. I am interested in hearing how you do with the treatment you choose. Best of luck Renato

@@larryseward1951 yes, I will communicate later. By the way, I had a bone scan and a CT scan Jan 3 and it had not yet spread, but my Doctor said best option is to remove my prostate as the cells can still can be totally taken out. I was given one month to decide.
@larryseward1951

If I could go back in time, I would have had my original biopsy done earlier. I did watchful waiting for about 3 years. Then my prostatectomy could have been earlier. I also would have pushed for a radiation clean up of my prostate bed earlier instead of after my PSA went up 4 years after the prostatectomy. That is about the same time I found out the margins were not cleared during the protatectomy. The cancer had already spread to my lung. Hindsight has the advantage of knowing one of the possible outcomes but unfortunately we cannot go backwards in time. The real test is accepting whatever decision we make or made and going forward from there without too much second guessing which is not useful. Best of luck. Peace.

Larry, keep believing. Have you eliminated animal fats and animal proteins from your diet? Please watch a recent Prostate Cancer Research Institute video on KZbin Entitled: "New Study Shows The Impact of Diet on Prostate Cancer". Prostate cancer cells feed off animal fats and animal proteins. Exercise important also. God bless you.

Josh, I am going to change my answer to your question on the type of PET scan I had. Looking back at my oncologist's notes, I see that they said my PET scan demonstrated high intensity fluciclovine-avidity (SUV 15) concerning for metastasis. My knowledge of PET scans is not good enough to answer your question. Maybe you can tell from the note whether the radioactive substance fluciclovine used in my PET scan indicates a PSMA PET scan or not? Sorry I cannot give a definitive answer. I have no medical background except what I am learning as a patient.
