Excellent info Pawpaw! That whole visatax is so confusing! We paid it online when it first came out as we were scared not to and way overpaid what other Canadians did! Hope they get it regulated or scrapped. No one is ever sure what they’re supposed to do. Now we just wait and see if we get stopped at the airport, haven’t been stopped yet. 🇨🇦🌴

No, not on arrival unless you make special arrangements with your airline for special services.

Hello, thanks for the informative video. Slightly embarrassing but I’m wanting to take some sildenafil in my case but obviously worried that these will get pulled out in front of everyone. If I put them in my shaving bag will they pull them out and ask regarding them do you know? Thanks

No worries about embarrassing things here. When in Mexico I buy Sildenafil that comes in the small caplet bottles. In Guadalajara a few years ago two young ladies were the Customs Agents when I got the Red Light. They searched everything, Sildenafil caplet bottle included and didn’t even give me a side eye. Don’t worry about it.

Hi Sir we're leaving tomorrow and our hotel is an hour drive, I think we have hotel shuttle, what do you mean by prebook the shuttle do I need to call the hotel now even if Im in Canada? Thank you for your response..

Few hotels or resorts provide shuttle service. If you haven’t scheduled that already then you may have a problem. If you get this message, and you don’t have verified hotel transfer, get online to Entertainment Plus and book USA Transfer there if you can. Please don’t arrive at Cancun Airport without a transfer scheduled.

hey do you know how to go to terminal 3 from the terminal 4 using airport free shuttle bus ? And how is the airport crowd look like at night like 8-10 pm if u have any info about that

Though I’ve never made the trip, I’ve heard there is an airport shuttle that will take you for no cost or very little. Do not let a taxi driver convince you otherwise. I suggest checking in with the Cancun Airport board in TripAdvisor Forums. There are pros there that have answered this question many times.

Your arrival time should be normal time-wise just less crowded. Still might be a wait for your check bags.

I have been 3 times since this tax was initiated. I haven’t paid it because the instructions and payment method is unstable. I’m not sure how “they” would be able to crack down.

What happen if you do not pay Visitax? Coz I’m confused some people pay and some don’t but then in the mean timeit say’s mandatory.

@Marilyn: It is the law to pay Visitax, which makes it mandatory, and each person should be taking it upon themselves to go online to pay it. That said, it is also the law to wear your seatbelt in the car, which makes it also mandatory. Does each person wear it? No. Does each person pay the visitax? No. I haven't paid it. Because the system has no repercussions yet, it is supposed to be tied to your passport somehow in the future, I will continue to "forget" to pay it.

Thank you for a helpful video! I leave for Cancun this coming Wednesday and I have never been to Mexico before. I have uploaded my Canadian Passport to the Mexican Immigration website, is that all that I have to do now until I arrive at Cancun and use the e-Gate? Will that piece of paper you get be the FMMd document that I will need to leave the country after the trip, or do I will need to download it from the Website a few days after I have arrived? Any insight you can provide on that would be super and greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Thank you for watching. Which website did you upload your info? Hopefully it isn’t a scam site. There is no need to pre-register anymore. US & Canada passport holders just show up. Keep that slip of paper if you go through the E-Gates & present to the airline person when you check your bags on the way home. Since Cancun Airport stopped requiring the FMM I haven’t done anything other than what my airline told me to do.

Does the shuttle between terminals come by often? Or, can I walk from Terminal 3 to Terminal 4?

One could walk it, but it’d be a very sweaty situation. I’ve never needed to travel between terminals. But others I trust say the shuttle bus is regular and reliable. Search the Cancun TripAdvisor firms to be certain. I d know that taxis will rip you off on the 3 minute trip.

Canada and USA passport holders are automatically granted a tourist visa valid for 180 days.

Really depends where and how far your resort is from the airport. When we stay in Akumal area we have our transfer pick us up 4 hours prior to departure time.
