Hey Ashley! This is so my testimony ❤️ I believe that the inclination to stay home is God given. The financial resources to do it reasonably are an additional confirmation of calling. Your professional experience in education might be further confirmation that you've been uniquely equipped to raise a remnant for Christ with all your might. It's a big job because of how constant the work is, but the rewards are incredible for you, your children, and your family as a whole. All The Best!

Great podcast! I’d like to add a point to the question of how to share your faith in a workplace. I’ve always found that asking for permission about sharing a story that could relate to the situation could be a value. I think in those moments being keenly aware how your circumstances and how the Lord has led you through those situations in your life could be of tremendous value to anyone while not putting any pressure on that individual.

One goal I have for ‘25 is to do more walking so thank you for your ‘balance’ comments. At 77 I have done way more PT moments than I want to & part of that has been for balance issues so that word ‘balance’ has a whole different meaning to me than y’all are talking about!😂 I’m laughing out loud over 10K steps but most days hope to go over 2K steps! Do those steps now, Ladies! If I had then I might not be dealing with all I am in my health now. Seriously, the spiritual balance in my life is an even more important goal - to be what God wants me to be that brings glory to God! Pray for wisdom & stamina for me, please

I ❤this season sooo much!! I am so edified by your conversations, both on and off topic. I have an idea! You two could do a show together with a few other Christian ladies (such as Allie Beth Stuckey, Lila Rose, Tara Leigh Cobble or Jackie Hill Perry just to name a few) for a “View” variety type show. You could discuss anything and everything: news, politics, music, of course movies, culture, etc. Honestly I’d watch anything with you two in it!! It’s difficult to find entertainment with substance today. Just throwing this out there because the idea occurred to me and it stuck. Thank you for your podcast and content. I need this Truthful perspective in my life!!❤

Priscilla, I appreciate your thoughtful explanation about baptism as an act of transformation-going into the water as one identity and coming out changed. Your reference to Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus commands His followers to make disciples, baptize, and teach, is a foundational scripture for understanding this practice. I want you to know that I am sincerely seeking the truth, and I mean no disrespect to you or Candace. I would greatly appreciate further explanation on this topic. I have struggled with this for years and genuinely desire to understand your point of view, particularly why some people believe it’s unnecessary to be baptized in order to be saved. After years of study, I’ve concluded that baptism is a requirement, not merely an outward expression (a concept I’ve noticed isn’t mentioned in the Bible). You mentioned, "We're not supposed to be dunking people in water all over the place. Find a pool and just carry around a bowl of water, dunk some heads, and sprinkle everybody. Yeah, that's not the the gist of it here." This seems to contrast with the literal instructions in Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." The Greek word used here, baptizo, specifically refers to immersion, and the act of baptism-being immersed in water-symbolizes dying to sin and rising to new life in Christ. Given Jesus’ direct instruction to baptize as part of the Great Commission and the significance of the act, I’m curious why it would be considered unnecessary or overly literal to emphasize physical baptism. After all, in John 14:15-31, Jesus reminds His disciples, "If you love me, you will do as I command." Wouldn’t this include following His command to baptize as outlined in Matthew 28:19-20? How can anyone disregard this direct command from our Lord and Savior Himself? Jesus explicitly instructs His followers to baptize, and this command is reinforced in Acts 2:38, where Peter declares, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." The importance of baptism is further emphasized in Acts 2:41, which states, "So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls." These passages highlight both the command and the immediate obedience of those who heard the message. Sincerely Seeking the Truth, Brandi

Many people use the repentant thief on the cross as their excuse on this topic. You better believe that if he survived, he would’ve changed his living and gotten baptized! Jesus knew he wouldn’t get that chance. The way I see it is this: You should be saved before you are baptized because baptism alone without repentance does not save you. However, baptism is an act of obedience to God, a picture of Jesus’ physical death and resurrection, and a representation of our spiritual death and resurrection. Not everyone will get the chance to be baptized or fully immersed due to physical ailments, severe drought, or intense persecution, but I do believe that to simply refuse it is an act of disobedience and rebellion. I know a lady who couldn’t be fully dunked because of inner ear problems. God understands that stuff.
@BrandiMoney5 күн бұрын
@@stampedergirl Thank you for your thoughtful response! I completely agree that the repentant thief on the cross is often brought up as an example, and you’re right-Jesus, in His perfect wisdom, knew the thief wouldn’t have the opportunity to be baptized. It’s a beautiful demonstration of God’s grace and ability to save regardless of circumstances. However, I also believe that if the thief had lived, he absolutely would have followed through with baptism, just as you said. Keep in mind, though, that the thief lived under the old law. We honestly don’t know if the thief was baptized once John the Baptist began teaching baptism for the remission of sins. Additionally, the New Testament law-the law of Christ-didn’t go into effect until after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The New Testament law was brought to us through Jesus, and His commands are foundational to how we live and obey today. I appreciate your perspective that baptism is an act of obedience that reflects Jesus’ death and resurrection and symbolizes our spiritual rebirth. I agree that repentance and faith must come first; otherwise, the act of baptism would be meaningless. That said, my question still comes back to the direct commands in scripture. For example, in Acts 2:38, Peter clearly ties repentance and baptism together, saying, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” This seems to suggest that baptism is not optional but a commanded step in the process of salvation. I also understand your point about physical limitations, such as the woman you mentioned with inner ear problems or situations where baptism may be physically impossible due to persecution or other barriers. I agree that God is merciful and understands our limitations. My concern, however, lies with those who are fully capable but choose to reject baptism. As you said, this feels like an act of disobedience and rebellion against a clear command from God. I’m truly seeking to understand why some view baptism as unnecessary or solely symbolic when scripture seems to treat it as a necessary act of faith and obedience. I would love to hear more thoughts on how this aligns with the broader teachings of the Bible. Thank you again for sharing your insights-I genuinely appreciate the conversation and the chance to dive deeper into this important topic. Sincerely Seeking the Truth, Brandi

@@stampedergirl Baptism alone does not save anyone, and no one is claiming that it does. The command is clear: "repent and be baptized." In your response, you suggested that one should be saved before being baptized. However, I respectfully point out that Jesus taught the opposite in Mark 16:15, where He said, "He who believes and is baptized shall be saved." Notice the order that our Savior established: salvation comes after both belief and baptism. We do not have the authority to reverse the words of our Savior or to teach others to disregard His Word, even with the excuse that God might understand. Our responsibility is simply to teach what the Bible clearly says on this crucial matter. If, for some unavoidable reason, someone is unable to be baptized as commanded, it is ultimately up to our just God to decide whether or not to save that person.
@stampedergirl4 күн бұрын
@@donnaribardi1522 Look again: Belief/Repentance is still first. That is exactly what I said. The baptism follows the belief and initial repentance, not the other way around.
@donnaribardi15223 күн бұрын
@stampedergirl You are correct that belief and repentance come before baptism. However, my response was regarding your statement that one should be saved before being baptized. The Bible does not teach this. The order of events, as Jesus presented, is belief, then baptism, and then salvation Mark 16:15. This verse directly links belief and baptism as prerequisites for salvation. Salvation does not occur before baptism. 1 Peter 3:21 says, "And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ." Peter explicitly connects baptism with salvation, describing it as more than a symbolic act. Baptism does not occur before baptism. If you believe otherwise please provide Scripture. Respectfully your, Donna
