You can argue Oscar had a higher peak (although that's up for debate because Canelo had a beast mode run from GGGII to 168 undisputed) but Canelo had greater longevity. Canelo also fought guys like GGG who was arguably more dangerous than anyone Oscar fought and beat him at his own game. And also moved up fighting bigger natural fighters regularly giving up 5-7 inches height vs the 168-175 champs unlike Oscar who was often the taller and bigger guy. At any rate, you can't really compare fighters from different eras and different divisions but Canelo has the deepest resume of any fighter today and notched up historic achievements from 154 to 175 including some things Oscar never attempted like undisputed.

Oscar really just lied on Canelo's name saying he is only a 3 division world champion when he knows Canelo has captured titles in 4 divisions. He is absolutely right. Even though floyd is undefeated, theres something about a boxer that doesnt have that warrior spirit. Pacman's last fight, they switched the fighter he was supposed to fight 2 weeks out and he still took the fight. Win or lose, we don't remember Oscar from ducking the greats of his generation even going to Middleweight where he looked very small compared to Bhop. I think when Canelo finally retires he might be higher in the pfp list. Oscar fought everybody but he also lost most of his biggest fights. Oscar also won belts in more divisions and was an Olympic medalist. Canelo on the other hand won most of his biggest fights and became undisputed in 11 month. On top of that he’s almost always like 8 fights or less from beating Floyd’s record of beating the most world champs. I don’t think he will though

As much as Oscar isn't who he was. There's no doubt, that he was a force to be reckoned with. Dude fought some prime opposition. (Pernell, Quartey, Camacho, JCC, Hopkins, Mayorga, Gatti, Tito, Mosley and Mayweather) He did not duck anyone. If it came down to Prime de la hoya vs prime Canelo. I'd say it would go either split decision De La Hoya or at least MD.
