The series of reactions when James compliments Barry really shows how much respect Barry has for James. First, when James compliments everybody Barry is so excited he's pumping his fists. Then, at the Hummus compliment Barry just takes a second, closing his eyes, basking in it; while Jamie smiles for his mate. Then, right when he mentions corned beef Jamie grins bigger and looks at Barry as if to say, "It's all you, mate." Barry is almost suspiciously subdued there, nodding in acceptance of the compliments while not giving anything away (like with the fist pumping). It comes down to Jamie to point out that Barry did all of that, and Barry's so chuffed with that. It's cool to see these genuine, happy, uplifting moments. Made my day that much better. Kudos, gentlemen.

1. Barry - I mean for once his ideas made it to the plate, didn't ruin it and were complimented, (except the tin opening...) 2. Ben - Got Mikes hints, and was consistent with Ben's role on these videos. 3. James - I mean, I feel bad for putting him at 3, because he did good, but considering his placement and the fact Barry did something good, it's probably where he should be. 4. Mike - I hate that Mike always underscores himself in these. In the 29 episodes he has scored himself the least by 18 points total, which really isn't fair. He panics when he goes into the kitchen and wastes time but usually doesn't make a big cock up like Jamie or Barry sometimes do. He decided on the beans, and whilst he didn't get far, he got it started. 5. Jamie - his potatoes didn't get used and his pumpkin lay there a while. The oil for the onions didn't heat and there were a heap of unused cans left. I mean again it's harsh because I think usually his performance would be around the 2/3 range, but everyone did well today. Stats wise. Out of everyone Barry has gone first the least and Mike 3rd the least and James has now gone last more than anyone else. So idea wise - Since Mike seems to lack some confidence in these, I suggest that he takes control, he goes first and have the theme undefined. Not to be nasty, but hopefully to show that he doesn't deserve a 1/10. I mean he's never made a cloud egg!

The "smell that penetrates the can", it actually doesn't, but usually a can or two in the stack is leaking and it lingers for months (so anything leaking in the entire handling process and everything will smell like surströmming) - can be washed away with some water and vinegar (or just brew coffee nearby, it will mask the lingering scent).

After watching their video where they demonstrate that canned or tinned foods can sometimes be as good as if not better than fresh ingredients which goes against the perception of tinned and canned foods and seeing them celebrate these products by using as many as possible was very interesting to me. I particularly found it interesting seeing Jamie identify how the different elements work with each other and communicating that there’s no texture change and rectifying that was cool for me because seeing how tinned food can be combined with fresh food can make a delicious end result

Once again Barry is doing so much better lately in these challenges. He has gone from cloud eggs to being arguably the MVP in two challenges straight so far. The key opener only worked when there was a higher fat content and it was therefore more solid. I haven't been able to get that stuff for well over a decade!

But It got me thinking, I remember an episode of Canned Food hacks that you guys did that was released back in April of 2020, that had a can of Corned Beef in it that Jamie demonstrated on how to open with Mike next to him, also having Ben and Baz on the sidelines watching obviously. Despite the can opening incident, great job Barry! Mike as well. Mike's contribution shows how important ideas are too food, just as important as execution. I love when the normals go first and are followed by chef's. Because the normals may have awesome ideas but not know how to execute them, so the chef's can step in with that knowledge. So future idea: more remote controlled chefs, but as a pass it on. For each pass it on turn, the person who's turn it is can choose someone to remote control. Chef must choose normal and normal must choose chef.
