It’s Sunday here and it’s only 56 degrees this morning and it feels wonderful ! Some people are just out of control and only their opinions matter so I don’t voice mine . If I had had my own children I would have loved homeschooling! I still remember all of the crating project lessons. I always loved when we needed to draw amoebas and other things like that! You and Gerry are definitely a Team as parents! God Bless and Protect you Always 🙏🏻🕊✝️🌸♥️

You could use a pot on your grill/ outdoor griddle to warm up something if the power is out

We keep a ton of propane cylinders filled around our property for if power goes out. You can cook so much on a gas grill. I have put my cast iron skillets on it and made squash and onions and hamburger steaks.

When we go to Florida (I’m in Virginia, too), we usually book a hotel near Savannah, GA. Then we eat at Paula Deans that night. The drive the next day to Florida doesn’t seem so bad after a break!

Prepping more than usual here. I live about 8 miles from where the convention will be this week. In 2020 the riots spread to the the western suburbs where I live & work. I'm worried this event will cause much more chaos. Praying hard & prepping hard.

My grandmother used to can sausage patties and tenderloin. Tenderloin was awesome when she took out of jar, floured and fried till golden brown. Yummy

Just ordered the Engineering Activities book with your link! Grandson will love doing these! We have so many Berenstain books that I haven’t purchased the big book. I’m so glad you said that about the Bluey story. I didn’t like that one either! I kept thinking, how rude! I don’t know much about Bluey. Grandson got the book for Christmas from someone else. I wasn’t impressed with many of the stories in it.

I have no experience with canning, but love the idea, I have always kept a well stocked pantry. Having yummy food canned and ready to go would be a bonus. I think an electric canner is in my future. I don't have a gas stove and find the electric glass top to be very frustrating to cook on. I can't imagine it would work well for canning. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good afternoon Tiffany! I agree with you Tiffany the world is not great right now. I think I am going to can some beans I have lots of dried beans but the other day we were having nachos and I went to find refried beans and found I was out I looked down and saw the dried beans but quickly realized it was going to take me to long to pressure cook them and it was 5:00 so my husband went digging and somehow found a can on the top shelf. I have so many canning projects on my mind next week I will start my autistic son doesn't like the sound of the canner so I have to do it while he is at school or asleep. Take care and keep doing what your doing.

I started pressure canning about 5 years ago & been canning a lot more! I enjoy it & being prepared as well. Loving my new electric canner. Like yours but mine is the Nesco rather than Carey but same canner. I know in the past I have seen you can cream soups but would love to know your recipe or if you would show us again how you do that!

Agreed on the concern that things will go bad after the election. Have heard militias are meeting in preparation if the results aren’t what they want. Have been trying to stock up on canned goods slowly but surely.

I mean, the end of that story was that mom’s “boring” rules are for a reason, but still, I think the word boring about mom is just not very appropriate for young children, especially when used multiple times during the story. I was not impressed at all. It’s in the 5 minute stories book and the title of that one is called “the pool.”
