Absolutely. I love when they add that mode to games like this or Soma where the story is really cool, but I don't want to get killed over and over again.

Yes, like Soma, games where skill has nothing to do with, don't benefit from death states. Action games, sure, try again, learn the game, that's the game, but walking sims, even if they add mechanics other that walking, where the focus is the story, don't require that. Imagine if you died while reading a book or watching a movie and had to read five pages again, or watch 15 minutes again.

Hi CBT, hope you're doing well and I'm glad Lily is doing well too. I never heard of Citizen Sleeper, but that artbook looks great and I added it to my backlog. Still Wakes the Deep is quite interesting, I like the oil rig setting out in the cold, lonely sea. Glad you enjoyed it. I am currently playing a game called ''Remember Me'' , a game from 2013 made by Don't Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange. The art direction and world building is amazing and so far the story is very intriguing and unique. Not many people know it or played it apparantly. Very underrated!

Loved Still Wakes the Deep, one of the rare times I actually really liked that type of ending, Caz's character development fit so well with the narrative, also found it funny American English subs changed the slang so much more than UK English subs, like they figured English people would still be able to understand but Americans had no chance XD

Still unsure about the last faith. Sure it looks awesome but there were a lot of mixed reviews about some of its systems. I figured I would hold off and see if it got much patch support and it didn’t get quite as much as I hoped. But it’s still on the radar

I am glad to hear Lilly is getting better. I also played 'Still Wakes the Deep'.I enjoyed 'Everybody's Gone to the Rapture', which was also from the developer Chinese Room, I think they also did one of the Amnesia games. I played it in standard mode but didn't find it overly challenging, just the right amount of peril to keep you engaged, I love that the characters were voiced by scottish actors. The creature design had a Thing vibe with people absorbed into the mass. It was more than three hours for me, but i like to take my time with game's in this vein & got the walking simulator trophy for not running for more than 10 minutes, amusing & self aware.

The Lily wagon is the cutest! Reminds me of how I put my last elderly dog's pillow down at the bottom of a shopping cart and took him out to Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia when I lived there. Lily looks reallly happy in it!

I just finished Hellblade 2 and.. yeah, felt similarly. The graphics are stellar, audio is solid, but the heavily lengthened sections of walking just to fill out dialogue really drags it out. Felt like if it was half the length and more concentrated it would have been better. Also most of the way through Still Wakes the Deep, it's been pretty interesting! The 'translated' subtitles do give me a chuckle. Overall enjoying it, also feel that it's a lot more focused than Hellblade 2 Always interesting to hear the game updates, thanks for the video!

I completely forgot about Bokura! I feel like the surprisingly dark (yet muddled and confusing) story overshadows the gameplay, which was a fun and interesting take on co-op puzzles. Aw, I don't think Lily appreciated being scolded on camera. I'm going to need give our pup a whole mess of treats before she's over that.

Glad to hear Lily's doing well! That wagon, though... I wonder if I could get Chungus to ride something like that. 🤔 Not much exciting here; finished Yakuza 3 and 4 and took a decent bite out of 5, but all of my save files from the Steam versions are up and running now (it was more of a project than anticipated), so I can just continue to cruise. Also finished Secret of Mana: Climate Crisis, and started up Final Fantasy Legend; I've made more attempts at the latter than I care to admit, but I think I'm finally figuring out how to strike enough of a balance to make it through. Another friend of mine is trying to get more into the franchise, too; we have dubbed it Hot SaGirl Summer. Also, Night Reverie looks LIT; I'm going to have to check into that one!

The remake of Riven came out late last month and I'm playing it. The original 1997 game is the best of the five Myst games, in my opinion, and this remake captures the spirit of the original game well. The remake had been in development since 2009 and I'm glad it finally came to fruition.

Regarding the Pandora Directive remake that is in the works, as you may have noticed, progress has slowed in the last year or so. Aaron Conners wrote on his website recently that "a lot of work has already been done" but the people working on the game are all busy with something else at the moment. I hope it'll be out in time for the 30th anniversary in 2026, but even that looks iffy now. To those who don't know, the original Pandora Directive is Pam's favorite FMV game.

The Last Faith looks like Castlevania on steroids...it looks Awesome. I really enjoyed 40k Bolt Gun, I would say the biggest problem with it is the game runs out of content long before it runs out of levels to put them in. Shouting fanatical insults at enemy's is what kept me smiling. I would say play a few levels then take a break, if you try to play it in one go it will get a little full. Glad to hear Lilly is better

I loved The Last Faith, and was glad I backed it on Kickstarter. I only disliked the endings. They weren't offensively bad, but not fulfilling, either. The "middle" ending actually had some sense of accomplishment. Oh well; journey over destination, amirite? I've been hung up on Hades, getting ready for the second one, but have been distracted by Marvel Midnight Suns. That one is... Fine. Not bad, not amazing, just fine. I was tipped off to HunterX, a metroidvania with quite the PS2 vibes. It's fun, but I wouldn't pay a lot of money for it. Thanks for sharing your month.

Harebrained Schemes used to own an ambitious streaming channel called HyperRPG run by the guy who used to run Geek and Sundry streaming (including Critical Role). I was watching it regularly when Necropolis was coming out and I remember the sinking feeling I had watching footage of it and thinking "this game seems to have little personality -- generic player characters and enemies, little to no story; this looks bad."

I'm definitely considering getting The Last Faith, it looked good since the announcement, problem is I got caught up with so many games in my backlog and recently spent an excruciating amount of time going through Fallout 4 (which I hadn't finished until recently), easily the worst single player experiences in the franchise since it came back with Fo3, boring quests, boring dialogue, the ending felt inconclusive as it didn't even go through what happened to key characters or the key villages and settlements. It felt like a big bunch of nothing, the 100+ hours I spent on it felt like a huge waste. At least now I can go on to finish Alone in the Dark and System shock.

You can go to Venice without ever going to Henry's apartment to get the Grail painting or fake grail diary. You can miss picking up all the books in the library (like the instructions on how to fly a biplane).

Hellblade 2 is one of the best exclusive Xbox Series console video games and I enjoyed it to the fullest. Too bad about Hell Blade 2 being such a disappointment. I generally enjoyed the first game and thought it was a very interesting concept. Still wakes the Deep seems cool though, very interesting setting! Will definitely pick up Last Faith at some point; better finish Death's Gambit first though. @@Cannotbetamed1 Since Microsoft owns them, they literally could have released 3 episodes, one for each giant, which would have given them more time to flesh out the game and make it more than a walking simulator. It wasn't BAD, but it was disappointing considering expectations. What's kind of worse is they were incredibly proud of how they used motion captured for the fights to make them more realistic, which is admirable, but that time and effort would have been better used elsewhere and at least to some seemed to actually make the game less fun.

I grew love Necropolis... after initially hating it. I never played it co-op. I would have gone right back to hating it if I was smacking my friends on accident. That is dumb as hell. I guess in the end for me, and I did beat it, a few times, it felt like a game with loads of untapped potential. It could have been great, but it feels like the devs gave up on it at some point and just released it anyways.

there was a lot of walking and talking in hellblade 2, like a final fantasy game....less puzzles, as for combat it seemed like you HAD to use her special to kill an enemy which you didn't need to in the original. microsoft may be digging another developer grave ☠
