Canon EF Lens to Sony E Mount T CINE Smart Adapter | Sony FX6

I did not see many people make videos on this specific adapter or even this type of adapter that metabones makes so I wanted to make this video and share my thoughts on it!
I also hope that anyone that has this same setup and needed a solution for the tripod foot may see this and save themselves the time it took for me to figure it out.
Another big reason I got this was to be able to use cine zoom lenses with a solid adapter that does not have any play. I was on a shoot previously and I was not able to use my follow focus setup on the zoom ring because there was too much movement.

For my 21mm lens I used one of the tilta focus rings, I believe it was a 61mm diameter one. For my other lenses, they are from Simmod.

Yeah this is not the speedbooster. This is the one for using on full frame sony cameras. The speedboosters cover small sensors like APS-C. Hi! How does it perform against a strong backlight? Does it have more flare/ghosting than lens without an adapter? Thank you!

@@acoast84 hey! I meant to create a short to show it against the backlight, but I’m in the middle of moving and on vacation too. But, as for an answer for now, and just using it, I don’t notice anything that sticks out to me. The inside of the metabones is flocked with black velvet material to reduce any extra external light from leaking. The fit is tight on the postive lock and the is a weather seal between the camera and metabones adapter. When I can, I’ll test the zeiss contax lens on my fx6 with an adapter and a native ef lens mount camera

@@themadlightfilms Thanks for the thorough reply! I was looking into 7artisans adapter as well but there is a review that says it has a noticeable flare against strong backlight. I'm always skeptical about ''cheaper'' gear. One more thing - With this Cine Smart lock, is it possible to change the lens with only one hand as well while holding the camera with the other hand? Or is it definitely a two-hand thing? Thank you!

@@acoast84 np! well I really wanted a solid lens mount and didn’t want to have to mess with testing out cheaper products. I would say, if you do video work professionally, buying good gear is the way to go. I am able to change smaller lenses with one hand but even then it is way better to use 2. It would be easy to think the lens is flush when it is not. Also some lenses are tougher to get flush than others. For bigger lenses you definitely want 2 hands or 2 people.

@@acoast84 also, there is the one from dzofilm but reviews say it has a tight connection which was a turn off for me. The metabones has been perfect also far
