Canon EOS 6D Basic Video Operation

There is no autofocus. So, focus before you start or use manual focus. Otherwise, it's an informative video.

Seems like continuous face tracking isn’t an option in 6D according to what I’ve read, am I wrong? Can’t find a way to make it work when recording

@@annuartv Yeah it's not a video camera. You might be able to get it to work if you hack the software, but I haven't tried going down that rabbid hole yet.

i dont know why my camera focus not working properly on 6d when i set to video mode. the lens already in auto focus, single point or face detection look not working i try to move the square focus try to point it to different subject eith different distance still not working untull i push the back button focus. anyone can help me please...

same here...and I was just gonna ask the same question.. My work around is using the AF -On button (back of camera)as a focus option and just press it with my thumb to lock focus. I would rather have it just run automatically though. Panasonic GH5 anyone??

​@@mx.garage I mean as far as I can tell what they're describing isn't a "Problem", it's how the camera works. There is no smooth auto focus with the camera filming. You really need to focus in between shots and keep the camera a steady distance from the subject while you film. Or you have to manual focus. The 6d is an photo camera first and foremost, its video capabilites are very lackluster.

Same here. The video is wrong. The 6D does not do autofocus during video. The 6D Mark II does continuous autofocus.

Depends on the shooting condition and what you're trying to achieve. But for 90% of people on earth, the S20 is better than the 6D for video.

HELP! Newbie question :) I have a Canon EOS 6D and need to film myself on camera. What are the settings to ensure I'm always in focus while filming since it doesn't have facetracking or a flipscreen. Do I need to get any speciifc gear or app to set this up? Thanks!
