Canon EOS R Video Settings (Quick Setup Guide)

My favorite thing about the EOS R is setting the custom shooting modes. I have my M-Fn button set to cycle between the 3 custom modes. I'll set C1 to 24fps and 1/50 shutter, C2 set to 60fps and 1/250 shutter, and C3 set to 30fps and 1/60 shutter. That way I can quickly switch between framerates with a single button.

Great video, this was super helpful. Thank you for making it. You mentioned you wish there was a faster way to change the white balance, what I do to quick-adjust this setting is I've applied it to my touch slider button. Hope that helps!

Great tip! I've never been a huge fan of the touch slider. I'm so glad they went to back to the back wheel on the R5/R6!

I just switched from 5DM3 to EOS R and the complexity of the setup menu in this new camera is in another whole high level :)) Honestly, why the hell Canon made it difficult to enter the video mode? they could make both Photo and Video modes shown by just pushing the Mode button.

I use a regular Sandisk Extreme Pro 90 mb/s UHS-1 card with no issue! The requirements to record 4K on the R are much less than the R6 or R5

Big Problem with Canon is that they use outdated, decade old frontlit CMOS sensors thus making Sony technologically superior. Canon should now be experimenting with SPAD or even x1000 more sensitive graphene sensors.
