It's worth pointing out that, if you are shooting mostly stills but want to quickly shoot video in between (by hitting the red button on the top) it shoots video according to the custom C3 settings. So if you like your video to be say 60fps, or 4k, then you need to edit the C3 settings and REGISTER them...otherwise it won't remember the settings when you turn the camera off. Apologies if I have stated the obvious, but surely I can't be the only guy to have forgotten to register the C settings.....

I've still not seen any KZbin video credibly address Colour Profile and Settings. The presumption on most these videos is "shoot in C-LOG or Neutral, and then post-produce the flat profile". What about the times when you don't post-produce? Decisions such as the settings for Standard / Portrait / Landscape / Faithful colour profiles are important. As too are settings for Sharpness, Saturation & Contrast. For those not post-producing these are really important. Not addressed in this video - or others to be fair
@JHawk4 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the feedback but the reason for that is very clear. These are the best settings that I use. Simple as that. Hello! I just switched over from Sony to Canon so I’m totally new with my EOS R and I have a question. Have you ever experienced your 1080p videos looking soft? I usually don’t have issues shooting close up products where the videos look amazing! But when I start shooting commercial videos with people standing 5-7 feet away from me, I have face tracking turned on and for some reason they look pretty out of focus once I bring it over to edit. I end up needing to put a sharpen filter over most of clips.
@JHawk4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm no I haven’t. What lens are you using? And also make sure you are shooting the ALL I 1080 not IPB
@simplevisuals4 жыл бұрын
JHawk Thank you for your reply! I shoot with the RF 24-105mm lens, 23.98fps ALL-I and I also use CLOG (with +2 sharpness). I’ve only had my new EOS R for a month, so I probably still need to play around with the settings some more. But knowing now that you’ve never experienced soft footage coming out of the EOS R could definitely mean my focus settings might be off on my end! So thanks!
