The F1 was my first SLR. I bought it at Ft. Freely AK in 1975. I carried that camera everywhere, shot everything...until 1979...when it was stolen from my apartment. I have always wanted to buy another but they tend to still command a hefty asking price to this day. So I walk around with a K1000 just waiting for the day I find a decent F1 and pull the trigger on it. Thanks for the 'no nonsense' video.

A couple questions I have that you didn’t address in the video. 1) How does the self timer work? What’s the difference between the M and the L? 2) You mentioned the built in light meter, how does one know if the aperture and shutter is aligned?

Did you get it? How is it?
@pixelgenau2982 Жыл бұрын
@@piraveenthevikaran1853 Yes, I got it meanwhile. The camera is pure pleasure! Fits well in the hand. Has some weight to it, which I prefer. Have to bring it to a mechanic for overhauling, though. The shutter dial hardly moves and only with quite some force. But this seems to be repairable.

@@pixelgenau2982 I just got mines and everything is fine except the battery check, although there is a simple way around it, this would be the first film camera I use and I know I'll enjoy it for sure!

@@piraveenthevikaran1853 I started shooting film last year, coming from a digital system. Now it‘s film only! Analogue photography is something so pure and enjoyable, that digital can‘t do. I am absolutely sure you gonna like it as much I do. There is a learnig curve to it but the more you shoot, the better you get.

Great - I appreciated very much! I asked you about a month ago, maybe you missed it, but I asked you to talk about the Canon EF - Black Beauty. Really looking forward to it.

What if the EE Servo cover is missing. Will it cause a light leak? Any work around if you can't find a replacement?

$45 for a Canon FD 50mm f1.4? $200 for a Canon FD 35mm f2 Concave Thorium? *Prices certainly went up since then.*

Hey Japan Vintage Camera this is a good video. My Canon F-1n lens mount is hard to mount the lenses like the flange was poorly machined or something. I was wondering if you have a video tutorial about the Sekonic Micro Leader hand held light meter, I just got one recently. Thanks.

Does the F-1 shoot double exposure like the A-1?
@youngum784 жыл бұрын
Yes. You have to press down the button for winding the film (Bottom of the camera) for the second exposure.

Hi, I have an F-1 just like in your video, with the 55mm 1.2 lens, it has the hot shoe on top of the film rewind and I can't work out how to remove it! Please may you advise me how to take it off the camera? Thanks, S

Hey there! does the canon f-1 have auto aperture?
@japanvintagecamera88692 жыл бұрын
No, in standard form it does not. However, Canon did make accessory finders which allowed the F1 to be use in shutter priority automatic mode, that is, you set the shutter speed, and the camera automatically chooses the best aperture.
@mohammadnauval77564 жыл бұрын
is that true, this Canon F-1 need a battery to operate ?
@caldera8784 жыл бұрын
Only required to power the internal light meter but besides that, it is a full mechanical camera.

The sound of that machine almost makes this video unwatchable. The Canon F-1 deserves better. Can you redo this video and probably indoors. There's not much Canon F-1 videos that explains.

Better to get a “New” F-1 which uses an easier to get 6v battery

True but then it is not a mechanical shutter which is desirable by certain photographers

It’s not bad for a camera that’s been shooting for decades. What would your phone look like in 2050?
