Several youtube videos reviewed that this Mark lll can easily overheat. Does it harm the camera when it overheats?

Please upgrade firmware for self timer delay in portraite mode. G7xii have delay g7xiii doesnt. I dont understand why you remove delay.. So sad.

i just bought the G7x MkIII and straight out of the box filming quality is atrocious. Doesn't matter what resolution 4K, FHD, HD, i tried manual mode and adjusted ISO, AF etc and the film quality is ALWAYs grainy/blurry. Canon you need to provide clear instructions on how to set this camera up properly. Its frustrating to see that others have managed to get a clear video - how did they do it

This was great. Thank you. But I need some help. I want to edit some videos I've made with my new Mark111. I just bought it and I have never edited videos before with any camera. All I want to do at this stage is trim them - get rid of a bit at the beginning and get rid of a bit at the end. And then add/join another trimmed video to it at the end. What software do you suggest and is there a tutorial to help me use the software. I'm using an imac. Thank you. Mark.

I have just bought the GX7 Mark III. It's the first new camera I've had for more than 20 years - except for the camera on my smartphone. I have a question - my apologies if it is basic or perhaps silly. I want to take some videos of me talking in my home office for my work. I put the camera on a tripod on my desk. I want to lean forward and turn the camera on to movie mode. I want to then move back 1.5 m to the right position so my head, arms and perhaps a book I'm holding are in the shot and in focus. How will the camera focus on me properly? Will it just do it? Do I need to have the camera on a special setting? Thank you for your time - this is not my area of knowledge. Mark

I have a second question: When I am videoing myself - in my home office etc - can I run a cable from the camera (I assume from its HDMI port ) to an external monitor so I can display what the camera sees on the monitor and hence get a better view of me to make sure I'm centred etc? I really hope that made sense.

Hello! I was unable to copy any files from my canon mark g7x mark ii. So, I transferred the sd card on my phone and connected to the computer. After that i just saw that there is nothing in the memory card. 😭 idk where my files went. Then when I re-entered that sd card to my canon camera it showed "Memory Card Error" 😭 I don't care about the card. But I badly need those files of my memory card. How to recover them. any idea? please please help 😭

I wish I didn't buy this camera. The auto focus remains a serious problem. It goes in and out of focus when vlogging even when I don't move. It's not been fixed. For vlogging I have to use manual focus.

This is not the best vlogging camera, the focus is terrible. The main reason you would buy a camera for vlogging is great focusing abilities and this camera is not good at that. I spent $750 on this camera and it has done nothing but disappoint me on auto focus. Do not buy this camera.
