Found this camera at my local thrift shop for $20. The seller had to ask several other employers if the price was placed correctly. X'D It was! I got a whole bunch of things along with it. They said they didn't know how it functioned so I was willing to take the plunge. Turned out there are a couple things. Flash was stuck but I fixed it so at least that part works well now, still figuring it out on how to use it. 😅

There should be a reset button on the bottom of the camera, just big enough for a pen nib to go in. However, getting your pictures clear depends on if you are on automatic focus (AF), manual focus (MF), or the diopter dial (Which is not described in this video) next to the viewfinder is adjusted for your eyes.

The ISO button? This video shows where it is. Exposure settings are changed with the primary selector and exposure comp button depending on what mode you are in.

You might want to invest in a good training video. It sounds like you just need to understand the camera a little better. The T1i can take great stills if you know what you are doing.

Nitpicking, but still. At around 2 minutes, you describe the DOF-preview button. However, it does not close down the shutter blades (which would totally black out the viewfinder) but rather closes down the aperture blades. Still, you are correct in describing it as a useless button...

That's to adjust the focus of the viewfinder.

Trying to get live view to work in manual mode. I have all setting in correct modes. On live view my camera won't show a live view. Maybe I'm missing something.
