Very good review. Your sample images speaks more than tens of other reviews I saw on KZbin. Most reviews covered the lenses with the R5 or R6. I'm very surprised to see the quality you got out of the RP. Thank you.

Thanks for using the RP for your tests! Those pictures look great! Can’t wait to throw down the cash for the 600mm!

How did you feel about the 800mm having one less stop is IS? Was it noticeable?

It's important to mention that these lenses do *not* support combined image stabilisation with the R6 and R5, only 5 or 4 stops of lens IS in the case of the 600mm or 800mm So they feel right at home on the cheaper R and RP bodies.

I’m trying to figure out who these are for. F/11 and non weather sealed rules out wildlife and sports. The price and being a prime rules out soccer moms and casual photographers. I don’t get it.

To be fair, 600mm and 800mm are destined to be huge. These F11s are just options, especially for starters. Seems like a waste for many, but I believe most people have never touched a real, super expensive yet enormous super-tele primes. Weather sealing is a bit gimmicky for those who use this kind of lens regularly; They still use covers. That said, those lenses are not for me.

The ISO in bright light is ridiculous and means you can't crop into the photos as there is no detail there. These lenses are a waste of money.
