Tesla did the same thing with the cybertruck, and tesla is way further along than Canoo. Getting a car company off the ground is DISGUSTINGLY difficult and STUPIDLY expensive with all the regulations and hoops of legal fire they need to jump through.

One big use I see for Canoo is Shuttle service for hotels and tour companies. You could easily fit a family plus luggage and customize with a wrap for company logo. I'd definitely want the Adventure Package. Love your channel.

6:04.. LOL.. I'm driving a converted Promaster city like this one but in black with giant solar panel on the roof, custom ventilation and giant gel battery under the hood.. been running a 12v fridge for over 2 years non stop. If they make it, Canoo will be my next van.

Ok, can we just point out the fact that the CEO of Kingbee just jumped out of a moving vehicle, then proceeded to hump it? Yeah? Good. Now that that's out of the way... Canoo really seems to be becoming the go-to for a lot of companies as of late. For such a cuddly people mover, it seams like they're going to steamroll the competition and end it with the ultimate finishing move: a happy hug and a box of chocolates, followed up with a bouquet of flowers that slaps the nonbelievers in the face. Scorpion and Sub Zero ain't got nothin' on them. It really is a pretty crazy paradigm shift that we're a part of right now when it comes to the auto industry, and I'm happy to see Canoo in the top contenders, as the process is forward thinking, rather a status quo approach like other EV manufacturers. I'm still very interested in the 3rd party body styles that will inevitably come out as well.

Super cool for Canoe, and this really helps them ramp up production, but I'll also echo what Peter said; I'm curious as to how Canoe will handle their B2C side of things. With that many units committed to these B2B cash dumps, and seeing how long it's taking Ford to churn out their pre-ordered F150 Lightnings, how many units will make it to customers in the next 3-5 years?

I hope Canoo makes it because I want a truck version. Love the dead pedestrian/roadkill window up front. Looks like a very functional body design. But the shift to electric being important, not really. That's mostly BS. We could drop our co2 output 20 yrs ago/yesterday/now by 30% from passenger/commercial vehicles if we set national speed limit to 50-55 mph. Yeah like that will happen. Don't see China cutting it's electric from coal any unless cutting means building more and bigger coal fired electric plants. Don't see those "made in China" labels coming off the clothes/products climate protesters are wearing/using. Most importantly haven't seen co2 level drop, other than covid, unless drop really means rise. Nope, won't make much difference in the proposed timeline needed. But it will be nice not seeing as many oil and coolant leaks in the driveway.

Your point is valid, for sure. But there's a different way to look at this. As it is now, car's and trucks pollute and create tons of co2 where people live, in the middle of cities. Smog is real. The first couple weeks of covid, when no one was on the road, the air in Los Angeles got clean for basically the first time ever. You could see forever, and you couldn't "taste" the air. It was clean, and amazing, and that was just in two weeks from no cars being around. Replacing those cars and trucks with EV's will clean up the air where people are breathing it. Sure, there's lots and lots of other problems that EV's wont solve, but this is one large and undeniable benefit, and in my opinion it's pretty important.

@@GearboxPizza fair enough but according to the "experts" by the time there are enough EVs in LA to make a difference the world will be smack in the middle of climate crisis and world starvation will be upon us. Not to mention the death and deformity those EV batteries contributed to in the Congo. Meh, as long as someone benefits. No free lunch. Always a trade-off.

OMG! I remember when we had 55 nation wide and it was beyond horrible. We had people in the south west dying from boredom cause it took so long to get places. People were falling asleep at the wheel.

@@doclees11 deaths here in the desert literally tripled from falling asleep at the wheel. A 200 mile trip goes from 2 1/2 hours to nearly 4 hours. Going south on NV 95 out of Vegas between searchlight and state route 163 you have a 15 mile stretch that is perfectly straight only changing in elevation. It seems like it takes forever at 75.

They have three facilities. One in Pryor, OK, one in Arkansas and I think the biggest factory is in Oklahoma City. They have already started production.

Elon musk has said in the past that he would open source tech and do what he can to simply forward the adoption of electric…. I wonder if there is any possibility of a chipotle McDonald’s type partnership in which canoo would have the option to “easily” buy back FULL ownership at a certain date for a certain price.

GOING EV ACTUALLY INITIAL DOUBLES DOWN ON POLLUTION AND GREEN HOUSE GASSES. how? ok. so you must understand that we are in a transition state. We are still producing ICE vehicles while building both factories and infrastructure to create and utilize EVs, for an EV Future. meaning we are doubling down on the pollution needed to create it all. from factories to vehicles to batteries. All that used to create come with the price of its own mostly ICE infrastucture. Not to mention the mining for minerial s to produce batteries and parts and plastics you name it. all atop an already system in place. We will not se the bennefits from switching to EV for at least several decades in the future. possibly 40 to 50 years till the system of ice is near neutral and EV's are not only everywhere but have evolved several generations of efficiency, especially batteries and or high capacitors. because batteries themselves is an issue in terms of pollution.
