long time crafter here- we have found that pool noodles placed in the corners help spread the load and shed more water out of the canopy we like the center pole canopies rather than the folding frame up the corner canopies, 5 gallon buckets of water work great for weight where you cannot stake also doggy augurs work best and use ratchet straps going up the leg to the top of the leg frame helps spread the load down for long term or high wind situations a pair of straps running in an x across the sides helps take out the Twisting action ALWAYS weight or stake down we once saw a canopy sucked up AFTER a storm - 200 feet up in the air , flipped over and dropped on a car -- be safe and have fun out there

One addition may be to attach the metal inside with screws to keep them together if it breaks completely across the center. I tend to overdue things though.

Or buy a new canopy with the money and time spent to make a shoddy repair.

Is there a better repair? - Certainly a new canopy is a great solution, $159 or so, vs $4 for the flat bar..... 'Shoddy - badly made or done', how would you fix it to be adequate?

Please ignore the keyboard warrior; I think your repair was more than adequate. Replacing the trusses would be great if they were readily available, but in today's throwaway culture it's good to know that videos like yours are there to find an alternative solution (and quite frankly an improvement on the original design). Kudos
