Nhl highlights today 2023 - Vancouver canucks vs st louis blues game last night was... interesting to say the least, let's talk about it and how canucks highlights would show even casual hockey fans that this team is different, despite having largely the same core. Nhl news today - With their two biggest rivals the edmonton oilers calgary flames floundering, blues vs canucks showed that vancouver fans can't help but laugh. Nhl hockey blues canucks highlights 2023 - The first quinn hughes goal stood out because of how sweet it was, obviously jt miller has a big game but the whole team just looks well-contrsucted and ready to take a big step. Nhl tonight

the Canucks have had a lot of teams where they can score goals and win games, but its not very often you can watch the Canucks without constant anxiety or fear of them throwing the game away with some bad plays. feels good to watch them play right now, which is rare, and they actually look like they WANT to win when they step on the ice, the hustle is real with these boys.

The Canucks are better than most fans realize. At the trade deadline they were a lottery team and then they went on a tear and leap frogged several teams in the standings. Should be a great game Saturday night - the Rangers are playing really well! The Athletic put out a great breakdown for a contending team of what is needed throughout the lineup. I think special teams is becoming even more important these days. I do believe a champion needs to score in the Top 10 in the regular season. Respect to the Canucks and their great fanbase. As a blues fan, that was probably the worst ive seen us play in a really long time. Every single player was flat, lazy, standing around waiting for something to happen. I wont even make the excuse that we were on the second game of a back to back. There is no excuse for how we let the Canucks skate around us. Very upsetting after we demolished the Flames (Who i know are not nearly as good as the Canucks) but damn boys. Make the game interesting at least. GG WP.

I agree that those things you mentioned are important for a team to have, but I think we need to include that, perhaps even above all else, the team has to _want_ to win. If a team truly _wants_ to win, it shows; you will be able to see it in the way they play. (Look at the Panthers in their playoff run last Spring). And these Canucks look like they are serious about winning. p.s. I've been a fan of the Canucks ever since my childhood favourite player, Mats Sundin, started playing with them, so I'd certainly enjoy seeing some more coverage of the Canucks.

Long time fan here, love seeing our boys play so well. It definitely does feel different than other years. Personally I think the biggest thing is Tocchet's system. They got hot when he came in and even though it cooled down as the season came to and end the boys got to see the system in play and how well it works. Also trading Horvat and buying out OEL gave them the space to sign some quality pieces for the defense and they've been doing their job well. Only concern is the amount of penalties they've been taking, and while they've been able to weather that storm (they're currently sitting at an 80% pk which is stellar compared to last year) that won't last forever, they have to clean up their game. Either way this year is exciting and I'm very happy to be here watching it. Go Canucks Go ❤

It hurts to see this team be so good without Bo Horvat. He was a heart and soul guy so to see him go, and potential lose a chance at the Cup in the future solely because of the cap really sucks to see. He just doesn't look right in an Islanders jersey. I wanna see him go back to scoring 40 goals in Vancouver, but that's probably never gonna happen again now that he signed that extension.

aside from tyler myers being on the ice for every goal against, i geniunely believe this team has exactly what it takes to make the playoffs. they have a fire under their asses this year as they’ve communicated to the media in preseason, they’re not getting any younger. plus they have a great coaching staff and Tocchet is really clicking. the motivation is different this year- quinn even said he’s sick of watching his brothers in the playoffs. having a motivated captain keeping everyone accountable and on track goes a long way. honestly i’m so proud of them, it feels like we’ve watched some of these guys like quinn, petey, boeser, demko etc grow up in front our our eyes and i’m stoked to see how they do this year. it feels different- and not just the last 3 weeks; pretty much since last march they’ve been showing major improvements.

As a long time canucks fan(joined the bandwagon in 94), you don’t really laugh so much as you wait for the other shoe to drop… Knew Petey was way better than most were giving him credit for(he’s a more complete player with better defensive awareness/responsibility than most franchise players in Canadian teams right now(he’s not as offensively focused though),but his strength is immense even when he was only 170-175. Quinn is turning out even better this year with a better D partner(he always made everyone better and was able to mask the deficiencies of at least the player he’s partnered with on the top line and not get exposed/buried while at it). Then there’s Boesner, who’s been going through some rough patches in life, but seems to finally be focused and showing us what those early glimpses suggested was possible from him.

To me it seems that the same problems are still there and they may just fester with this start. I watch them every chance I get and I don't know about them. They seem so fragile to me. If McDavid runs into more injury time I really think that will seal the deal. Hope I am wrong. Really like what the Canucks are doing. Fun to watch.

It's actually not that surprising. If healthy the Canucks will push for a playoff spot, I have them as my darkhorse. The past few seasons, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. This season, the coaching situation appears to be stable. Demko and Mikheyev are healthy. EP has figured out the NHL game. Miller is elite but still doesn't get the credit. Hughes is elite, still underrated around the league. The team has made the right moves to shore up the defense and PK. Sure, they still have some gaping holes, but the addition of Soucy, Cole, and Hronek is a vast improvement over the AHL caliber defense from last year. DeSmith is a solid backup. I predict the GAA for the tandem to go from almost dead last to top 10 this season. Boeser seems to have regained his passion after several years of on and off ice turmoil. Kuzmenko is a top line forward no one seems to mention. The addition of Lafferty and Blueger, although injured, has improved the PK tremendously. The third line is MIA right now, but they will find their game. The team has all the key pieces to make some noise. Casual fans need to remember they were a 500 team last season despite everything. It's not that far of a stretch to think they can pivot and win an extra 10 games. Their goal differential is impressive but again that's not too surprising.

I was definitely skeptical of the hronek trade in the beginning. However he’s been the perfect guy next to Hughes. They’re showing you don’t need to be a big hitting d man to be effective defensively. Plus they’re generating so much offence at the same time

This has been the best start the Canucks have had in years. And im here to enjoy it while it last. These games will matter later on in the season and could be the difference between making the spring dance or early golf season again.

In the playoffs, the Canucks are first round fodder at best if they can continue the way they have been playing at the start of the season... for ALL of the season... AND make the playoffs. Which would be an incredible improvement for them! There is still so much work there...

I understand that it's early in the season to celebrate, but holy Canucks look like a top tier team. Their defense has definitely stepped up, their depths across their lines have looked sharp on both ends. Before, we used to commend the Canucks' scoring and offense, but now it's crazy what it looks like to have great offense and defense.

I'm not going to argue with anything you said; it's all spot on. If Demko can be consistently good if not better, then the Canucks are going to be tough. Concerning Alberta, I've never hopped on the Oiler band wagon. In my opinion, they get overhyped and have too many question marks. The Fames clearly are looking hapless and likely won't make the playoffs.

How is it that a team that finished final four, 2 years ago and 2nd round last year...Both times losing to the eventual Cup winner with some.....how shall I put this?....Incredibly lopsided officiating to contend with....are somehow ....."overhyped?" Remember, the OILERS were the Underdogs in the 5 game Calgary series....Even WAYNE GRETZKY PICKED THE FLAMES TO WIN!!!.... How is THAT ........"overhyped???" That said I agree with you on them having holes to fill. They are NOT Stanley Cup favourites or whatever T.S.N was saying. Not unless Ken Holland gets busy on the phone with at least 2 or 3 trades and the emergence of some young guys....Then....Maybe?.....Not until then.

@@ABC-sc2ipNo..."Everyone" does not. Not in Edmonton anyway. Not all summer. Most Oilers fans around here do not feel that Holland improved the team at all in the off-season...and that was the consensus BEFORE the poor start. This was being manufactured mostly by T.S.N and Sportsnet....And we have no idea why....To give the Leafs some coverage from the usual pressure?.....Now onto your next point. Powerplay is a part of the game. Not sure what you mean by "take those away?"...I wouldn't say the powerplay has been "taken away," anymore than all other area's being off track for the Oilers right now....Regarding McDavid?...The last time he was injured it was for 7 games and they went 4--1--2......So far it has only been 2 games and rumour is he will be back Sunday for the Classic.....So we will see....Lastly, the if following your logic, then the Canucks must be a prime example as well?...Last year they had the WORST Penalty Kill in the league. Tocchet seems to have vastly improved the Canucks penalty kill....hence the much improved record. Following your logic, if that was somehow...."taken away" from Vancouver, that would expose them as the lower tier, non-playoff team they really are?....And that this good start is just "hype?"....Why would that logic only apply to Edmonton's Powerplay,....but NOT Vancouvers Penalty Kill? Besides, it would appear that a Powerplay was "taken away" from Vancouver tonight in OT....and look what happened. "Overhyped" perhaps?.......Thanks for listening, enjoy the game tomorrow.

I’ve been a Canucks fan since 2008. This is, by far, the most well rounded and balanced roster I’ve seen on the ice. Canucks have traditionally been a heavy offense focused franchise. Getting the defense up to match the offense has brought such a feeling of relief this season. I’m not counting my chickens yet though. For now, I just want to enjoy the good hockey they are playing. 😎

@@borismuller86 Better? Maybe not “better,” but definitely more balanced. Even the 2010/2011 team had some glaring defence issues (which Luongo became the sacrificial lamb for on far too many occasions, in my opinion). The 2010/2011 team were so much damn fun to watch all year though that it really is difficult to say at this early stage of the season which team is ultimately “better.” 😎

Still early in the season ngl, but getting close against Tampa, winning vs a finalist was good. Preds, Oilers and Blues are all bad right now. Rangers have the same score as us and they are a good team. When we go to our eastern Canadian road trip, thats when we'll see how good we really are.

This team makes Canadian hockey worth watching this year I mean Quinn Hughes was built to be a hockey superstar and Petterson is there but if Demko plays this well and there is depth which I do see throughout the lineup, they could make a serious run hell I might've been a fan of this team if they were this exciting when I first got into the sport a bit over a year ago
