Cap kettlebells aren't really cheap or affordable anymore sadly but are you sure they don't weld the handles on these like most the cheap brands do because I'm interested in picking up at least about 3 different sizes of kettlebells but I don't want any that have the handles welded on obviously because the last thing I need or want is a big round piece of iron falling on my head when I'm holding the weight above my head and why are the black Cap Kettlebells so much more expensive than these gray ones do you know why?

You’re right, CAP kettlebells aren’t cheap anymore. Pre pandemic you could find the for 80-90 cents per pound. They are more than double that now. All of mine are solid, one piece casting. No welds. All of mine have been purchased in the last 4 years, so I can’t speak to anything prior. All info I can find online says they are solid cast with no welds or seams. I would argue the “no seams” as I can clearly see where they have been ground. As far as the price difference in the black enamel and the gray, I’m not 100% sure. My guess would be it’s purely cosmetic. Smoother, cleaner looking since more people are buying them for home use since the pandemic started. I think they are charging more for the appearance, not the kettlebell itself.

good shit. i got the 40 pound one before. it works great. just bought another pair of 50 lbs. 75 each. starting to feel like over paid. but at least my 40s and 50s will match

I don't think you overpaid. I saw them recently for $79.99.

@@JScottHelms okay thanks. I’m feeling like a beast with these 50s. Been doing farmers carry and other stuff a lot. I think helped increase my bench press and everything else. But anyways great video again 👍

I was able to get a CAP 25 lb before it sold out and a Weider kettlebell from Walmart in 40 lbs which looks similar. It’s hard to find them during this quarantine. I’m kicking myself for not getting two 25s. Do you train with double or think it’s best just to get one of each?

I do not do any double kettlebell training. I only use one at a time. I can see the strength and core benefits of some of the double bell exercises, but have never trained to do them. With a heavy enough kettlebell or high enough reps, one is more than enough for me. These CAP kettlebells go in and out of stock all the time. Just keep an eye out, they will come back in stock.

Hi J, thank you for this review. I have only CAP kb's at this point. Do you find that there's enough of a difference between this and your better bells to justify updating/upgrading to something like Kettlebell Kings or other comparable high-level brand? Thanks!
@JScottHelms3 жыл бұрын
There are definitely some differences between the CAP and more high end bells. The upper end bells usually have a better, more consistent finish. They are usually one piece of cast steel or iron and the weight is more accurate. But, for all the differences I wouldn’t upgrade my CAP bells unless I had to. They work fine and do exactly what I need them to do. I have had to smooth some spots on handles but the price point (pre pandemic) makes it worth doing. I would recommend checking out some big name bells, just to see and feel the differences. But I don’t see the need to swap out what I already have for a bigger name brand. As I add new kettlebells to my collection I will be looking at more of the Rouge E Coat bells. They are comparable in price and made in the U.S.. Hope this helps.

@@JScottHelms Thank you J! Yes, those new E Coats looks great-enjoyed your review of them (thorough and helpful for sure). Keep up the great work man.

Thanks for the vid. How did you get them so cheap?
@JScottHelms4 жыл бұрын
I purchased mine before the great kettlebell shortage of 2020. Under normal circumstances these kettlebells sell for a little less than a dollar a pound. I’m sure that once the factories get back up and running, and they start churning them out again prices will come back down.
