I just wish Capcom move away from the Shadaloo storylines like Street Fighter 6 takes place after Street Fighter III but it feels it's a direct sequel to V due to the Shadaloo stuff still being the main focus III the only installments that has nothing to do with Shadaloo.

It's because Capcom IS Illuminati, and they don't want to shed light on getting people's curiosity on researching and talking about Illuminati. That's what SF3 is about now and that is the new enemy in the SF universe. Capcom(Illuminati ) want all focus away from getting people sparked up about Illuminati. Disney as well.. they were supposed to have the Cap America movie called New World Order, but they changed the title recently. There was also supposed to be a Marvel's Illuminati movie but i think they're not going to make it. It's because Capcom IS Illuminati, and SF3's story and new enemy is the Illuminati now. Capcom(Illuminati company) want people going AWAY from learning about the Illuminati or even spark any more interest in researching the topic in general. Disney(Illuminati) as well.. The new Cap America movie title was set to be called New World Order.. but just recently they changed the title. They also were going to make a Marvel's Illuminati movie during a coming phase, but I really think they are not going to make that one anymore. I don't think they know what story to tell with it anymore. It may not have one or point anymore, given how little to the story is added each time. I think they easily could, but they are afraid of how much may change in the work involved. They could only keep adding time when adding time and Shadaloo is still a thing? That doesn't make sense. They could tell a simpler story inbetween and that lead into something, but they have so many disjointed characters a plot seems hard to string together. There was a possibility of something after III, but they went right back to Shadaloo and I have no idea what SFVI is. It all seems like place-holders instead of a breather or real continuation. Capcom seems to lost what made their fighters fun, even a crossover may have been needed or bring back others, which they have axed, essentially.

It seems to have taken inspiration from Dragon Ball FighterZ, another game criticized for its shortcomings. I believe even a game created on a broken laptop or through Mugen could potentially surpass the quality of Guilty Gear Strive.

On the unoriginal note: while they seem to be taking the character costumes in a King of Fighters direction they don't need to be that radically changed in the 2 decades they have been around. The same holds true for most fighting Games that have lived this long (Street Fighter, Tekken, Soulcalibur, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Killer Instinct, etc.)

They're sorry yet they still give us a small base number of characters to start 6 with many of the new characters just being different versions of others omitted. The majority of the characters we love that make Street Fighter Street Fighter are all being held back so we can pay for them over the coming years or won't be made available at all. So in about four years we'll actually have a Street Fighter 6 that we feel is a proper Street Fighter experience to play if the likes of Bison Vega etc etc are made available to us and we'll have spent at least double the initial purchase price to get them so Capcom can stick their sorry where the sun doesn't shine as they're taking the piss adding insult to injury

Hold on, how is nobody complaining about the fact that SF6 mainline cast only have 1 costume with 2 colors. Then you have to purchase the other 2 or 3 costumes… which still only gives you 1 free included costume. This is terrible, I’m glad I only paid 30$ for it. Compare it to TK8 & their roster of 32 characters & so many costumes and customizable articles, SF6 has not learned anything or rather their players no longer care. 😂

TBH they should be sorry, V is easily the worst installment IMHO and I have a hard time imagining anyone booting it up again except for buying Chun Li costumes. What they did to Akuma and Seth is really unforgivable and ever since then we've had to pay for Akuma... long time boss character of Street Fighter is now paid DLC, 2 games in a row and has been redesigned to look like a dandelion. An absolute stain on the franchise TBH.

It may be too late for Rival Schools as they needed to happen in that time and place. Think of how jarring it would be to leap from the 2000s to now, where they would try and make it appealing to the West like SF is now. Street Beta Five nearly made me drop playing fighters as a whole due to how poorly the game was handled. I remember the devs explaining their plans for the game, which i think half of which would get scrapped to rush in content in order to save the sinking ship that was sfv. But if it wasnt for Capcom's failure, I wouldnt have discovered the hidden gem, Guilty Gear Xrd.

To be fair, in Street Fighter × Tekken's defense, despite half the roster being sealed away behind a paywall of $20, the Game's retail price was that of $20 also, which is incredibly low for a game of that size. This means people wouldn't have to chalk over all $40 to play through the game, even if it meant they didn't have access to half the roster. So if they didn't end up liking the game very much, they could console themselves with the reality that they only blew $20 on it-but if they _did_ like it, an additional $20 was nothing, especially considering SF×T could realistically even have been priced at $50 (with respect to all content being available from the start).

Would be nice to have our other capcom fighters. DarkStalkers, Rival Schools, Powerstone... I mean... How long have we been asking for these?.... It's been a very VERY long time. I didn't buy SF6 it even had odd issues on my PS5. But since then I got it as a gift and played some of the city run around and that was fun. But it's not exactly gotten my time over say something like King of Fighters or other venues. Companies just haven't been giving us what we asked for. So now we're playing games that are fun and the un expected can happen. Helldivers, The Brew Barons, and yes they're not fighting games... But it seems like much of the fightin game scene doesn't give many of us what we asked for. In a time where we scream and celebrate diversity, we've gotten only so much of it in the form of things that actually count for other tittles so we can all have fun.... You know, things that matter in games should be DIFFERENT KINDS OF GAME PLAY and thus MORE THAN JUST STREETFIGHTER!

You forgot the recent news on the reason why Ken voice actor wasn’t in sf6. I became peeve after hearing this and not planning to buy sf game and haven’t bought sf6 because they will have the turbo edition, but no. Not to mention making outer dlc terrible to the point it kills the mood and momentum. I fear they’re focus on edi and esg will not only kill sf series, but the company itself. The reason the director left sf was due to political issue that he was a little too happy trigger on. Also the one who didn’t bring ken voice actor back because he was hooked line and sinker to the propaganda that he didn’t research enough that it was actual false information.

Personally, I think the apathy toward fighters is still there. It's around because of fans pandering for it and Capcom seeing other fighting games monetize, thus making it something profitable from different angles. And E-Sports. SFVI is like another attempt at SFIII from how the themes and new attempt to put new characters at forefront, just in the worst time period when it's hard to see an aesthetic with the 3D compared to the 2D. Whoever used to do the music for SF is clearer gone as well as they used to have tracks that stuck in your head. Maybe it's as simple as corporatization and maybe, some key figures behind it not as passionate as they were twenty years ago either due to comfort or how industry has changed. They also are milking the legacy characters until way later, so this seems to be the exact same thing. The new characters are just iterations of prior they took out. Smallest roster. They are fortunate that Juri became popular and seems to be the only new one, though I feel it's just another kicker to compete with Chun-Li since V. Crimson didn't pan out. Compare Capcom with other fighting game developers (not ArcSystemWorks) and they fall way behind, even with DLC practices in all of them.

There is an astonishing lack of context and misinformation in this video. Not that there weren't many *many* misteps in Capcom's handling of SF/fighting games, but this video does not do the historical aspect justice. Concerning SFIV and it's updates: At the time, Super SFIV: Arcade Edition *was* to be the last update for SFIV. That was the plan. Street Fighter X Tekken was supposed to be the next big fighter from Capcom. But since SFxT bombed, they figured they could make extra money by backporting the SF additions to SFxT to SFIV as Ultra SFIV. Which is something we SF fans *wanted*, and to try and paint what they did with SF there as anything good for SF fans is doing Capcom a serious disservice. That was less Capcom being greedy and more Capcom giving fans what they wanted. Ultra SFIV was very well received, thank you very much. Concerning SFxT: While you are accurate in reporting that a lot of players were turned off by the DLC distribution (i.e. characters on disc), I'm disappointed to see you not adding context that Capcom's only real mistake here was putting the characters on the disc itself, rather than how they developed their DLC. Videogame fans then (and now) still have no idea how game budgets actually work, with DLC being conceived and separately budgeted from the main game and often alongside it. The days of creating DLC from scratch *after* a game is created and sold is something that died out long before SFxT was made. The 12 extra characters were *never* meant to be sold alongside the initial roster and, contrary to what players believe, no one is entitled to 100% of the code that is shipped on a disc. Games had had stuff locked away for years that was never meant to be seen/used by players (e.g. bosses missing from Metal Slug V), and the license that players agree to when purchasing a game only gives them the right to what the publisher says they're entitled to (this applies to software as a whole, not just games). The disc was always just a means of distribution. It sucks, but it is what is and has always been thus whether they realise it or not. The fact that they were included on the disc as a means to speed up distribution is 100% Capcom of Japan's fault, but their practice on the whole was not particularly shady in the least and I'm very disappointed to see you continuing this false narrative. Street Fighter V: This mostly a matter of budget. For whatever reason, and despite coming off the major success of SFIV, Capcom's higher-ups didn't give nearly the budget for SFV as they did for SFIV. I don't know who approached whom, but this is why Sony stepped in to assist, which is why SFV became a PS4 exclusive. It's terrible and definitely an unforced error on Capcom's part, but again, don't blame the development team for this one. A sidenote about those who hate DLC in general, though: DLC saved this game. The 2910123 Chun-li costumes apparently made so much money that they were allowed to continue to develop the game and refine it into something decent (I personally still hate SFV, by the way) and likely helped fund SF6 as well. So at least this worked out in the end. But you're right in that SFV likely could have been something much bigger/better earlier if they had a proper budget to work with initially. Ultra SF2: This was 100% overpriced and definitely Capcom being greedy, taking advantage of being the first fighting game on new Nintendo hardware. Somewhat sadly, they were paid for their greed since this sold over a million copies, last I checked. MvC:I roster: That was 100% Capcom being restricted by Marvel/Disney. Remember that MvC3 was released at a time when the MCU was barely a thing. 2010 MCU was *vastly* different from 2017 MCU, to say nothing of the fact that when MvC3 started development in 2008, Disney hadn't owned Marvel as yet (and the MCU, outside of maybe Ironman, didn't exist at all!), and thus terms of contracts would be different. Marvel barely interfered with Capcom before (we never would have gotten the likes of Shuma Gorath/Blackheart in a roster if they did), but 2017 Marvel, now under the control of Disney, exerted much greater control. The roster was disappointing on the Marvel side but Capcom had no real say in the matter. Combofiend was toeing the company line because his job very likely depended on it. A terrible transparent effort with that "functions" statement, but you would have done the same if your livelyhood was on the line too. td,dr: Not everything you mentioned by Capcom was a mistake, several things mentioned that they did wrong were not in their control, and a few things _were_ their fault but you didn't give proper/correct context. SF6 is fantastic so far BUT their development/marketing teams and esports teams seem to be operating independently of each other and is very frustrating. I'm curious as to how much revenue the avatar stuff is bringing in, because as far as I'm concerned, Capcom left a LOT of money on the table with no Yor costume for Chun and that Spy X Family crossover was a complete waste (one i expected, but still sad to see pan out thus). But it's a testament to how good the actual game is that these minor things seem to be more important that they actually are.

Capcom has always been a shit company... They just secretly change they're shades of shit over the years. I've hated them since the cancellation if Megaman Legends 3. Yes, I am guilty as charged with giving them money but I only buy 100% complete titles with 0 DLC and Megaman games.

I still have mixed feelings, on never getting a new Dark Stalkers game. Obviously, they would be just as predatory with their piece meal content, as they are with Street Fighter. Breath of fire, Mega Man, and even Gargoyle's quest, actually have a chance to be brought back, unlike DS. there's even a chance, they might not bend us over a barrel for unfinished versions of those games. Not Street Fighter. It will never be a worthwhile buy, out the gate.

Too Japanese, today they aim for a "gLoBaL" marketing approach. A new Rival Schools would mean heavily westernizing it to the point of making it no longer recognisable... and not to mention the censorship to which some characters like Tiffany Lords would be subjected

These tactics made me stop buying a lot of fighting games and I will wait until all content is at a reasonable price. The newest in the series, Street Fighter 6 is horrible in all levels to me. They really lost what made Capcom fighting games great. There are so many horrible things they did with graphics. That new character on the cover art is just plain stupid too. It's annoying! I really want them to wow me again and give something that feels complete from the start without all the annoying addons too.
