Bro, i am a Brazilian, and i can say that Blanka is one of the most loved characters here. He is very similar to a brazilian legend called "Curupira", that was a ginger and green kid who terrorized the tribes. We don't see this as racist. Cala a boca gringo.

If you look into the history of a lot of characters, especially the more “unique” ones, you’ll find that this is how they started out. A caricature of another race, and particularly Black people.

Considering world history though, a black man in chains portrayed as savage and huge would just be really harmful. Being raised by lions is badass though, I wouldn’t hate on them approaching THAT SPECIFIC concept on its own in a more appropriate way.

@@raiderking7310 Capcom is very innovative and groundbreaking with their IPS (Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Mega Man, etc.) but at the same time, a lot of their games have questionable to down right racist imagery that they had to edit/remove. Like Disney and it's films and IPs...

I don’t think it was racist at all you’re comparing today’s standards to yesterdays. And to be honest, how many video games out there use stereotypes, especially fighting games when you’re introducing new characters you need to be able to know what that character is about just by looking at them fast food for stereotypes. You can look at any street fighter character, and instantly know what they’re about for example Ryu Asian karate man or Ken American karate man. It’s not racism, it’s good character design .
