The Seawall Trail in winter!
We started as a group of six and ended with 3! The plan was to do the Seawall Trail and exit via Grey's Hollow but with a bad weather system coming and how slow we were progressing we had to change our plans and get out early!

It looks even better in the winter! This is #1 on my list of OAC ski destinations for next winter now. Gord is a trooper! I better bring a helmet.

We were very lucky! Seeing him facedown in the river was terrifying and I'm so glad we were not far from being out.

The Seawall trail is something I'd like to do one day. I need to get in better shape! I'm worried about recent talks about the development of the trail, though, and am wondering how you guys and your friends feel about the changes being proposed. I was initially excited about the trail being made clearer and easier to follow - definitely something that would incline me more towards doing it. Not sure I could handle the bushwhacking you guys are doing! But what's being proposed now is not even allowing people to bring tents. People will be required to stay in huts. I've heard there's also talk of charging people $200 to do the trail. I don't think that's right at all. I think a small fee at the trail head to help towards maintenance of the trail is reasonable, which people could avoid needing to pay by entering off trail if they care that much to avoid it, as well as setting aside designated tent sites that people could be encouraged to use to reduce impact on the land. To me, staying in your own tent and "roughing it" is part of the whole point of wilderness excursions like this. Also, if they're concerned about the impact of that, does that mean people will no longer be able to go on the kind of adventures you guys have in your videos anymore? No more off trail exploration in that area? Maybe it would be better if they just left the trail alone to the few people that currently use it. That would be the way to ensure the least impact on the land.
