Yes, I think it’s deeper than that for the same reason with platinum I think it was mixed up very early on Of course I don’t actually know but no way that was supposed to be west’s cape

I did this same cape swap as well but a little different. Hugo’s shorter cape has a copper wire that sticks out in the front. I folded the copper wire in half so that the blue fabric was touching in the front and bent the wire under the front blue fabric. I then placed it on the Batman ’66 figure and reglued the top neck piece down. The Batman ’66 cape is longer. The hole in the cape for the neck is too small to place on Hugo because you need the top plastic collar to connect with the bottom plastic collar. (If you try connecting the collar pieces together without the cape you will see how the fit together.) I cut the neck hole on the cape just large enough for it sit on Hugo’s body without the cape touching the rim of the bottom plastic piece attached to Hugo’s body. I added glue to the top blue plastic piece, holding the cape in position, I glued down the top plastic collar with the bottom collar while the cape was sandwiched in between.

Your video gave me the confidence to do this cape swap, I always wanted to try it but I was afraid of damaging the capes. Really glad you made a video on it. You were so right about that Adam West Batman cape being a huge pain in the neck, it didn't take me a long time but it sure as heck was a chore. I couldn't be more satisfied with my figures now. Looks way better!

As someone who recently bought his first heat gun, don't use it on anything with a soft goods cape. I tried it with some figures I didn't like that much (which is why I tried it on them.) No matter how low you make the setting it is going to melt and blast right through the fabric.

I wonder if the neck size issue could be combatted by adjusting that section of wire somehow... twisting it or maybe soldering it (tho that'd obviously be super risky with flammable fabric). Hmmmm.

I saw this at Walmart, I passed. I’m not an Adam West fan. Will say this though….. you ain’t living unless you put bright Yellow Knee-length Bermuda shorts on Adam West. Put him in a mustang model car jumping 2 other cars. He actually did that in 1976 - I actually remember it.

My theory is that the capes weren't switched by mistake. My reasoning is that the Platinum Label Adam West cape is the same size as the regular Adam West cape.

Huge improvement! I guess I can't complain too much for the price point but Mcfarlane is typically way off on at least one aspect of every figure. In this case the Adam West cape length. It's frustrating.

Funny everyone thinks this was a mistake but I guarantee this was a conscious choice by McFarlane toys to use those inaccurate capes on those figures! Now if you pull the wire out on one side of the shorter hugo strange cape and snip off aboit a half inch and reinsert it you can then close the gap in the neck of the gap to where it can fit better in the original spot on the Adam west neck with a few strategically placed drops of glue!
