After lots of testing I maxed out at 56 degree incline with the stock shocks and springs. The trx4m has a lot of torque twist and I found that putting 4 shock spacers on the rear passenger made it crawl so much better. Might be worth checking out and putting a weak spring in the rear right to combat that torque twist.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
56 is impressive! That explains why the stock setup has the spacer pre installed in the rear. I’ll do some tweaking with this in mind 👍🏻

I am in process of building an extended wheelbase trx4m. Will be cutting the front frame arms off for more servo clearance. Losi B shocks are on the way! thanks for proving them out. You're going to need to run rear springs of some sort. I just can't get away without them to reduce the frame twist. My rubber band limiter seems to be most effective when connected to the servo bracket instead of the links. Love to see where this build is heading. I've given up on the factory body. Even after removing the top and windows, it's still crazy heavy.

@@CapeCrawlers I see they just posted the Bettle for pre-order ;) I'm going for LCG type crawler, so I prefer grasshopper style with full length rails so I can push the upper shock mounts toward the link pivots. I'm going to see how far the factory chassis rails will get me, first. for mocking up, new setup will be factory trx4m rear lower links with custom length uppers to provide appropriate front caster angle. Once I finalize that, I'll likely fab some custom high-clearance links front and rear.

After doing the budget lift on this thing I found that the axle pins kept popping out on all of them and I lost all the pins. That's a good idea: pitfalls of upgrades! Your issue sounds like an electrical one of some sort. Possibly the transmitter and the throttle settings? Are the losi shocks a direct fit or were there any issues installing them?
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
I had to punch out the pivot hardware and run a bolt through the empty mounting holes. The shocks pivot on the bolts, which isn’t ideal, but it works. Otherwise it was easy!

Do u think the rcawd shocks would go good with the trx4m?
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
I think they would be too short. There wouldnt be much of an advantage over stock. They may even be shorter actually.
@jtatkinson68252 жыл бұрын
Congrats on having a very capable trx4m. I can't get mine to perform as well as my scx24. I'm guessing 791 grams. Also thank you for having a real 5th wheel on the back. Cant stand to see that fake wheel cover.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It’s very capable, but still not quite as capable as the scx24 (yet).

@@CapeCrawlers thank you also what shocks are you running wanting to do a similar set up love the amount of flex with the long travel it has
@kennethrobinson90082 жыл бұрын
That flex is extreme. I have found out that extreme flex will cause the vehicle to downgrade. Stock shocks will work better.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
You are correct. It takes a TON of work to maintain capability with articulation. But that's part of the fun!

Gonna guess 886G. Considering I am doing a very similar build and have already been adding the weight of my parts together.

You got the closest Chance! True weight is 888g. You got within 2g without going over. Shoot me an email so I can get your info for the gift card!
@chancetrinosky71122 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Glad to see my math was actually pretty accurate considering I added weight of all the parts from weight of the stock truck. Thanks for your generosity and excited to see how this truck comes out in future as more parts are released.

You know i just got my trx4m. Ford high trail. And I'm actually disappointed yes its got a hard body. Clip less mounts. But..... its got bushings not bearings. Plastic gears in transmission and and for the first time a traxxas product doesn't seem strong. It feels like I'm going to brake it.
