Did a little research on the guy. Apparently dude's been losing his shit for a few months now. His wife and he were estranged for a while, but recently (June of this year) she took their kids to get them away from him, presumably they felt unsafe around him. The trespass warrant was actually due to him refusing to leave a police station after being told to do so several times by one of the officers there after he became belligerent and aggressive. After the shooting, the cops also found nearly 400 marijuana plants, which in Florida is a big no no.

During the LA riots in California all of the police officers had to carry the Beretta 9 mm. The press portrayed the police as bloodthirsty killers because "why did they shoot my boy 12 times?" Was a common complaint. The true answer to that was " because the first 11 rounds didn't stop him." The officers protecting our film crew chose survival over blind obedience and got there "real guns" (with stopping power). The sheer raw power of this poor man illustrates why so many rounds are discharged so often. Their critics learn everything they know from TV shows were you simply shoot the gun out of his hand or politicians say "why didn't you just shoot him in the leg?" (not realizing legs have large arteries). And I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the Korean store owners who brought heavy weapons onto the roofs of their businesses we're not burned out.

My son is a sheriff and had the same thing happened earlier this year. They were called out by family members that said there brother had a knife and threatening them and saying he was going to hurt himself, my son and another officer tried for 45 minutes to talk him out and he finally came out into the garage with the knife, they kept asking him to drop it and come out so they could get him some help. My son was approx 40' fron the rollup door when it started to go up, they could somewhat see him behind some boxes and they kept attempting to talk him into dropping it and coming out. There were two cars in the driveway with a gap of approx 12' between them, my son had backed away onto the sidewalk and the other officer was closer to the garage but behind one of the cars with a less then lethal shotgun when the guy came out focused on my son and pointing the knife at him, the other officer started shooting him with the bean bags hitting him three or four time and he just kept advancing towards my son who finally shot him. All you out there that think all these cops want is an excuse to shoot you are way off base, this really affected my son, it took him some time to move on, he is still dealing with it but is much better after getting some counseling. These men and women don't get paid

Although I was never in law enforcement, I had training and experience restraining violent/combative individuals long before engaging in security gigs that I worked along side of former ATF and police on security gigs that resulted in helping to take down a shooter one night. Once officer #3 arrived and immediately tasered the guy again, within 15 seconds they had him down, with his hands behind his back, that was their window of opportunity, yet, officer 3 continues to taser the guy while he willing put his hands behind his back as the taser had a good connection and was doing it's job, yet instead of stopping the tasering and cuffing the guy, he continued to grind the taser into his back firing it the entire time, at this point, the "sovereign citizen", tired of the pain and the fact that even though he was trying to comply, officer #3 did not stop, when he had clearly given up and had his hands behind his back, powered out of the pain and got back up. I blame the officer #3 for not knowing where his window of ending the situation was, missing it by "proving" to the "sovereign citizen" that he was in charge. But then again, officer 1 & 2 should have cuffed the guy up. when that window arrived, but they couldn't because they too were getting shocked by being in contact with the guy while he was being continuously shocked by officer #3. They both had their cuffs out, but couldn't cuff him, due to Officer #3 over-zealousness.

Not talking about all cops, but I've worked with many, and that is exactly what happens and the types of people it attracts. Hell it's literally scientifically proven police departments prefer to hire candidates with less empathy/remorse, thus continuing the biggest prison industrial complex on earth. Y'all need to learn

Once it wore off the two officers practically stood up and watched the other officer try and do it by himself…

@@SpaceMissile this was also the officer that arrived late and immediately went hands on, he then requested to use lethal and was told no. He later got his wish by mag dumping into the guy. While I think it was a justified shooting, The officer wanted to shoot the guy earlier and then gets what he wanted and then says he didn't want to shoot him.

I work at a hospital. This was an inevitable end for him for being off his meds. Last time i had a guy on this level, he didnt get out of restraints for hours, and no mental facilty would take him due to his violence. So we had to all file charges so he could go to jail. Not sure what happened, but at least we haven't seen them back.

And the first 2 pretty much just stood by. They got him on the ground with a tazer to the back...yet, it was still "mostly" 1v1 with 2 guys watching. Once he was on the ground and his hands behind his back, one of those guys should have jumped on his legs and wrapped them up and let the other 2 handle the tazing and cuffing...but largely it seemed they were just scared to even touch him except the one guy on his back with the tazer.

Nah he was bad...I'm pretty sure he was the one that messed it up. He was on the dude straddling him, and continued to drive stun him even when his hands were behind his back being secured, causing him to lash out. And then completely lost control. He was terrible.
