Kliplok profile type roof sheets have their own nifty design to combat capillary action leaks at the laps. And these are so effective that the underlaps do not need that extra drainage watercourse. No leakage actually goes over the top edge of the underlap.
The Trimdek profile is quite different. And because capillary water can climb onto the top of the lapped rib, the designers have provided a watercourse on the other side to drain water out of the roof.
But this often fails because of the frequent oversight by most roofers in the installation of this profile roof sheets. The watercourse must not be in a position to wick water back at the discharge end of the roof sheet. Otherwise, leaks are sure to happen.
All trimdek roof sheets need the two opposing corners cut before installation.
Now, how many of you know this?
