FYI Chase sapphire lounge is exclusive to the Chase card as priority passes are limited to one per year (either cardholder year or calander year)

@@Dannyclips69 Yeah, I just learned that! And I was thinking about it, and it’s actually a pretty smart strategy. It’s like getting samples at Costco and then actually liking it; then buying it. Thanks for the heads up Danny!!

A few months ago I checked the pre approval tool for the venture x and it said I was approved. Check it again last week and it did not show up as one of the cards I was pre approved for but I applied anyway and got approved!

Yeah Capital One’s systems can be finicky. I cut this out of the video because I thought the intro was too long. A few years ago I used Capital One’s pre approval tool, said I wouldn’t be approved I decided to apply anyways, I got the card, haha. So I don’t think it’s too accurate. I would maybe put 80% confidence in it. Congratz on your approval! I’m really excited about Capital One lounges; especially with their partnership with José Andrés

CSR now is $300 Travel, $300 DoorDash; before 2 years of Lyft pink. Though I hope that gets extended.

@@MattClausen So far they’re pretty good at extending the credits and it’s pretty cool they upgraded the Doordash credit. However in my area Doordash and Grubhub have some of the craziest up charges. Which was a major reason I cancelled the Gold card (at the time). So unfortunately the CSR still wouldn’t work in my favor. But good point to consider Matt 👍

CSR is my workhorse all year round, COVX I just got several months ago, met the sub, used some of the $300 travel credit for a hotel in Paris.

My metrics for this card were somewhere around the 650 credit score, 5-6 inquires and coming up on 2 years of credit history.

Exact same thing for me, except my score was around 720 I believe, and I got automatically approved

@@diegomontero6851 I got an email from Cap1 targeting me saying I was pre-approved so I did the test and I was and immediately applied and was approved. My credit score was in the 720 range, but officially on my approved letter it said 649 or 650 because it pulled all bureaus I assume, but I don’t remember the official score.

@@callmeNeno 🤔 You got a point. Darn I wasn’t thinking of that. I just read too many horror datapoints with people with excellent scores getting denied. Thanks for the suggestion Neno!!

@@CalbyNg - very true. i've seen alot of people get denied. i checked my pre-approval status with them & i couldnt get pre-approved for any of their venture cards! 😒

@@docsays Oh wow! You would think they would throw the Venture One at you, haha. Which I guess they didn’t generally approve me either; instead just gave me the option to get the “Platinum” lol.

One risk the outcome is a sure thing, a month ago I was pre approved for the Venture One not the Venture I sure as hell didn’t even bother with the Venture application. I took the Venture One with a solid cl and will snag the Venture upgrade when it is offered even though it will be plastic instead of metal. Capital One doesn’t like credit seekers the fact they offered me something and with the solid cl is enough to keep me content.

Im honestly so torn about which travel card I want. I’m between Venture X, Sapphire Reserve, Amex Platinum and Altitude Reserve. 3% on Mobile Wallets is tempting and I could use most credits both reserves and plat ,but Venture would be perfect if they add better transfer partners.

Congrats on your Wife Venture X approval. Its a great card. Just a quick note, the Chase Lounges you can access with a Priority Card once per year ( no guest). The once per year is not by location, its just one visit at all.

hi, is it possible to transfer the balance on a Chase Biz card to an AMEX personal or Citi personal card or Capital 1 personal card to take advantage of 0% bal transfer promo? thanks

@@MSaylorBTC1M I’m not a financial expert, but you should be able to. During a balance transfer, all that happens is, the card you are transferring to writes a check to pay off the balance of the other card. Sometimes they’ll even give you the check to pay off the existing card. Just remember most credit cards charge a balance transfer fee; usually around 3% - 6% of the entire balance. Also double check if they’ll let you transfer a balance; some banks won’t let you per their policies.

Hmmm that’s strange, because Capital One loves new customers with not too many cards. Capital One is a strange card issuer. I’ve seen datapoints with people having a 820 credit score and $300k income, still get denied for the Venture X. You could try this. One trick I like to use is when credit cards offer elevated welcome offers; see your pre approval status then. I noticed it tends to be easier to get approved for cards during elevated welcome offers or a new product.

@@CalbyNg I’ll give that a try, last time I checked the pre approval tool they offered me the quicksilver secured and savor one but they didn’t even offer a secured version of the standard venture card

When I got the X the tool just for that card said I was pre approved while the general tool said I wasn't pre approved for the good credit version of the Savor family or the Venture

@@Adiscretefirm That’s so weird; you would think Capital One’s tools would be connected. I cut this out of the video; but I did try both tools (general and Venture x) both weren’t in my favor unfortunately; and not sure if I wanted to risk it, haha. Congratz on the approval!!

@@CalbyNg it's Cap1, trying to apply logic and real life experiences will only leave you frustrated. I am going to garden for 7 months from account opening and try Savor One 1 time, if they don't want me to have it I will move on with an old Quicksilver they won't let me change and the VX and move on to other lenders

It won’t. The $300 is an actual credit, not a rebate. So I won’t count towards spending and won’t earn points

At 6:10 where it takes time to do all that, it's pretty much BS It takes the computer less than a second to process everything, but the human mind refuses to believe it can thoroughly check everything that quickly That's why they slow it down
