Holy shit people are so desperate to shit on a character 1. Mavuika is a real archon. She was born a human and ages like one, but still has the power of an archon. OP god level human 2. Nahida said rank 3-1 are on par with gods, not that they could clap them. Even taking that into account, archons are above typical gods. Capitano fighting against her on equal grounds is still pretty impressive 3. Translations are apparantly goofy. Capitano was injured but seemingly would have kept on fighting had Ororon not pulled him out of there using his " trick " 4. Mavuika wasn't injured, but she was exhausted and didn't seem to be doing great either. Still, also would have kept on fighting if given the opportunity All in all, what we saw was an unfinished fight that could've gone in several different ways. Capitano was still first form, and Mavuika might not have been using her full power either. I'm myself disappointed and would've liked to see more from both, but they will very likely have another show down later. The story's not finished so, let them cook 😔 we have plenty time to trash on the game later

I'm not saying Capitano is weak, I'm saying his attitude going into that battle and people expectation of him is the problem. Capitano start by provoking Mavuika, breaking into her place and boasting that he will "create new rules for Natlan", clearly his intention was to pick a fight and win, but he didn't and fled away. Him being dragged out isn't an excuse, he could have just gone back, just as Mavuika could have dispelled the fog and chase after him. Not to mention, idk about the translation but here we see Capitano thanking Ororon's trick for "save the day", which could mean he is glad he got drag out. Secondly, about people expectation. This is the 1st of the Fatui Harbinger, supposedly the strongest of all god-like being (just look at how others are capable of). Before his appearance, many characters strong and weak also praise and admire him heavily too. If our first impression of the 1st is him fled away like a coward (paraphrasing heavily) this easily, while we see the 11th (lowest ranking) managed to maintained his delusion form for over 45 days and fought off a primordial whale (which is considered a national threat). Then of course people would be disappointed.

The Basic Rules of Engagement. Those who die in a fight, or surrender, or flee, or are incapacitated to the point of being unable to continue fighting, are the ones who lost the fight/failed the objective. The exceptions to these rules are the following, Playing Opossum (Faking Death for the purposes of a strategy or tactic in mind), The Wounded Gazelle Tactic(Fakeout Surrender, and exaggerating an injury to lead your opponent to a trap), and Tactical Retreat. Il Capitano was injured and was extracted from the fight by his ally. So he lost the fight because his ally didn't want to risk him getting injured even more or possibly dying should he continue fighting. There will be people saying that it was a draw because Mavuika was exhausted. Mavuika was only exhausted, not injured. She had yet to truly be hurt in the fight, and thus she wasn't at any risk of dying, fleeing, or surrendering in the fight. Her exhaustion could indeed put her at a disadvantage, but she was still in better condition than Il Capitano who was explicitly shown and mentioned to be injured. Needless to say, Il Capintano is a great fighter indeed, though he made a mistake taking on Mavuika's punch head on like he did, as that got him injured and prompted his ally to extract him from the area.

Base Capitano was defeated by Mavuika's full power, but what's remarkable is that Capitano didn't use his full power, including his Abyssal power and Delusion, which he is capable of wielding. This is evident from the fact that Mavuika had already stated that she had lost much of her powers it mean she used his full power ( why did i say she used his full power? Bro is exhausted after 2 mins of fight and On the verge of knock down💀. Yeah capitano got know down but can still stand at his base form and also she felt an unusual presence when they exchanged their final blows. It's clear that Capitano didn't use his full potential, as evidenced by the fact that Mavuika's powers were already diminished. In fact, Capitano's statement in Archon Quest - "Victory and defeat are rules, not outcomes. I have never taken advantage of an opponent in a time of weakness, and I don't intend to start now" - demonstrates his integrity and honor as a strongest mortal. He fights with respect and fairness, regardless of the outcome, and doesn't want to exploit his opponents' weaknesses. Instead, he wants to test his strength in a fair and honorable way. The funny part is that people are saying Capitano is escaping or running away, but actually, he didn't back down from the fight and still wanted to exchange blows. Something interrupted him, as shown in the last part of the cut scene - the Master of the Night Winds pulled him out. This suggests that Capitano didn't get defeated; someone simply pulled him back. Capitano's statement is a testament to his character, and it's clear that he wants to test his strength as a way to honor the fight against the God of War, without using cheats or his full power. We're told at the end of the quest that Capitano is literally dying from something alarming before the fight even took place. Perhaps, the "save the day" was targetted towards saving Mavuika, or some piece of knowledge the captain only learned later that meant he shouldn't have done what he was about to do. ...Or, maybe he meant it as saving him from her. During the fight, he was injured by her but clearly hadn't gone all out yet. Still from his perspective, Mavuika still had the upper hand due to not sustaining an injury as grave as his own and must have also overestimated Mavuika's abilities and thought she could use that move again, when in reality it had costed her all her power. Basically, she bluffed and it worked. In spite of that though, Capitano didn't yield due to his honorable nature and was content with fighting to the death, and would have unleashed his true power against her during that last part of the cutscene. So had Ororon not stepped in, Mavuika would have died right there and then. I'm a fatui glazer and all, but holy shit I gotta respect her for that. she has balls of steel.

Venti is the weakest and got beaten by Signora. Granted he can level a mountains in the past, but he lost that power now. Also he's just a wind spirit before ascended and his role in the archon wars are mostly support. He also got the archon title because Boreas refuses to receive that title. Nahida can't fight and she even cannot win against Scaramouche without our help and her devices that looped the time hundreds if not thousands times until we win. Focalor is just a former oceanid and the servant of Egeria. We don't know if she can fight but I doubt she can.
