Thanks for the video and most of all the pooch! A suggestion for *all* grinder reviews: please grind the beans within the video so we can hear the volume of each grinder. This is really important for those who rise very early with others sleeping in the household. Thanks!

I have the Encore and put my beans in a dosing cup weigh them, put that many beans in and grind them as I need them. Works great. I also like that it's heavier then it looks. Looks and feels like a solid machine. I haven't had it long, a couple of weeks, but so far I've been loving it. I use to make V6o pour over its set at about 15 or so, At some point, I'll play with the settings and see if it makes a difference in the experience.

I use my encore the same way. Its been a wonderful grinder. I use it nearly every day. It's easy to clean, and is user friendly.

Love you guys but your camera work could be better. What was the point in comparing grinds if we couldn't really see them. Don't zoom in, give us an overhead shot.

I just picked between these two yesterday and ultimately ordered the Baratza. Looks being subjective, it came down to choosing between what was more important: ability to repair (Baratza wins, no question) vs. noise (Capresso is much quieter from what I can tell from several other review videos on other channels).
@ladyflimflam Жыл бұрын
We find the encore much quieter than our capresso was and the consistency within the grind of the encore is astoundingly better.

Because of cheap plastic tabs in the mechanism, I broke that Baratza grinder twice! Since then I've been using that Capresso every morning, cleaning it regularly without a hint of trouble, and couldn't be happier! ☕

@@MrChristopherMolloy I'm curious, what settings are you using for your coffee? I tweak mine based on the roast but I'm just wondering how consistent these grinders are.

@@bluemystic7501 Generally I use an automatic drip machine with a paper basket filter, and tend to use the medium setting at 6 o'clock, or one click finer. The one bad thing about this unit is the amount of static oily beans tend to generate.
@bluemystic75014 жыл бұрын
@@MrChristopherMolloy There is a fix to the static issue. Add a drop of water to your beans or dip the handle of a spoon in water then stir your beans. Try it or look it up, works like charm!

Thanks for the video! Does the Barazza have as big of a retention as the Capresso? I noticed there is a lot of retention in the Capresso when cleaning it out after a single use and was wondering if all conical burr grinders have that problem.

Just tilt and shake the machine slightly. Or get a bellows for them.

Tests of coffee grinders are quite superficial. Tests are done in a few minutes, do not show how the machine works when it has been in use for a while. One machine that gets good reviews is the Baratza Encore. It grinds just fine, but surprisingly rotates with the coffee, both in front of and behind the machine. After let's say 8-10 times it is also full of coffee inside that has not come out. If you knock out the residual coffee, you should have plenty of space, because here the coffee bounces out everywhere. The plastic cup, which is claimed to be antistatic, is probably not completely anistatic after all. If you are considering this coffee grinder, be prepared for a lot of coffee grains on the kitchen counter

I find my Capresso to be a real pain. It grinds well, but after every use I have to invert it carefully over the sink and pound it and shake it to get all the grounds out. Every. Time.
@planetag310 Жыл бұрын
She forgot to talk about ease of cleaning. I saw a demo where the Capresso was easier to clean than the Baratza Encore, which required removing a rubber gasket and stretching it back on. A real pain, in my opinion.

One word of caution with the Capresso...it is a great grinder, BUT the knob is not overly solid...cheap plastic and mine broke after 2 years...and Capresso does not carry replacement parts. I was fortunate to know someone with a 3D printer who managed to create a new knob for me.
