I'm subscribed to a number of German friends who have also commented on this tune and I have mentioned that the singer/songwriter of this song (Richard Clapton) lived in Germany for a few years before returning to Australia. While he was there (Berlin) he played live with local musicians. You really captured the nostalgia feeling of the 70s perfectly, but i think it even sounds very modern and could be also a piece written in the early 2000´s. Great voice control, Johnny. The chords are lovely in this song. Great choice. I don't know i you have ever tried the "Partial Capo". It only covers 3 strings on the guitar. The: A, D, G-strings. Hey Mate . . . . thank you as always. 🙏 Yes!!! Our children and their children will never know (unfortunately) how lucky us 'boomers' were. 🤷🏻‍♂ . . . . I dare say luckier than our parents, who set us up for such a great post-war period. They did all the hard work and our generation reeked the benefits I guess. Randy . . . . I am feelin' heaps better since my latest consultation with my 'second opinion' specialist. She has scripted me the right medication and I feel so much better physically and mentally. I pray it remains that way. 🙏

'they played it a lot in Germany on the radio in the late 70's' . . . because Richard spent a time in Germany in the early seventies before returning to Australia. It was almost as if he honed his songwriting skills up there. Regarding the 'views' . . . . I purchased the equipment necessary ( that wasn't cheap), spent countless hours trying to do my bit and on all occasions I failed. I gave up in the end. Yes, I am a 'Capricorn, (01/1957), but I have never thought for one second this song had anything to do with the birth-sign 'Capricorn'. Because the northern part of Australia is divided by the 'Tropic of Capricorn', I always related the song to that, but now you have me wondering whether he was writing of what you have suggested. 🤷🏻‍♂ Anywho . . . .
