The Common Approach to Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment (CAPSEAH) is a short guide to help all people and organisations working in humanitarian, development or peace settings take action to tackle Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment (SEAH). It has been developed by an international steering committee, involving governments, the United Nations, multilateral development banks, civil society and others, and has now been updated following a global consultation which ran from November 2023 to February this year.
By having a Common Approach, we can:
Re-emphasise that humanitarian, development and peace work has zero tolerance for inaction on SEAH.
Improve collective action, partnerships and collaboration on Protection from SEAH (PSEAH) work.
Talk about and tackle challenges as a community, and learn from each other.
The CAPSEAH webpage has the relevant documents and more information.
At the roundtable, Emma Wokowu and cross-sector speakers discuss how CAPSEAH can help broaden and strengthen the dialogue and approach to PSEAH work worldwide.
