It’s many factors. 1) When did Steve Rogers hand over the shield? When did the Disney + series happen? RIGHT! Years ago. Marvel has been taking YEARS to follow up things. When they set up Sam to become the new Captain America, people were hyped. But that was 6 years ago. Who cares now. 2) Anthony Mackie isn’t really likable. He comes off as not really wanting to be in these movies. At first he comes off as someone joking around. But as the interviews went on for those past movies. He came off as someone who really didn’t like being there. 3) Marvel Studios had too much going on. Too many shows that really didn’t matter or have a good tie in with the movies. Look at WandaVision. Introduced so much and very little payoff

Agree on all fronts there. Only thing I would argue is Bucky as Cap would have been such an interesting storyline to explore and then do like the comics did and Falcon gets the shield for a period of time as well

0:15 There actually isn't currently a confirmed role that Chris will be playing. One popular theory is that he'll be playing as a Hydra Captain America instead, which would make sense since Robert is playing a villain instead of a hero this time.

I've heard that and personally I HATED the Hydra Cap storyline so I hope it's not true lol

@capthemagic Interesting. What was wrong with it and what alternate role do you think Chris should play?

1:53 I believe I once heard that Spiderman: Beyond The Spiderverse cost less than Pixar's Elemental, which surprises me considering how amazing SBTS looked.
@capthemagicКүн бұрын
I do think you're right on that. Same goes for the Mario Bros Movie, I believe it only cost like 90-100 million

I would argue that if Disney bring in $ 95m+ box office weekend it will be a huge win for this since I was expecting it much lower (around $50m) . This is a movie without Steve Rogers and winter soldier, so anything over $80m is succeeding.

It's possible but the main issue is the biggest is so inflated now it almost has no chance of actually being profitable though of course it is possible it's a great movie and has good word of mouth

@@capthemagic - That just peoves Disney needs to reign in Feige, because no movie should cost that much to produce.

3:26 Marvel is also reportedly recasting T'Challa (The Black Panther) in the MCU.

I did hear that but they honestly should have done that back when sadly Chadwick passed

Huh? Movie is not even out yet. Makes no sense.

It really depends if its good and if it gets good reviews. Ant man got a decent opening caused of kang but had one of the worst marvel drop offs. People may still show up though for red hulk if i had to predict i think its still going to make 650 Mill but its not going to be anything like DPW. But yes not having steve in the first movie it probally wont track like winter soilder even though fiege said its more like winter soilder tone.

I would be surprised if it made over $500 Million after it's all said and done. There is no hype or real excitement for this movie from everything I've seen... it's also kinda an extension from the Disney+ show and some people don't even know that Falcon is now "Cap" lol
@FortMiseryGamingКүн бұрын
@@capthemagic They must have some sort of faith it will do better then the marvels otherwise they would just pull a WB and just put it out without any reshoots. I think its more about also getting the fans back and showing they are course correcting after the momentum from DPW.

Agreed. If movie is good it will have legs. Quantumania was a terrible movie.

For me at least, Disney killed the movie industry. It put Hollywood in a precarious position and it's suffering. Between all these companies (not just Disney) going to streaming and the structure of all of that, it's hurt the industry. As far as Disney/Marvel is concerned, Disney has milked that cow dry. The interest in the genre has long since faded. They've oversaturated Star Wars and killed it with inconsistent stories and messaging that nobody wants to see. Best thing for Disney is to get back to animation with the original "Fab 5" characters and introduce new IPs but keep them in the animation genre...and keep the messaging out of it. I'll close that thought with a question... When was the last time you were excited to see a movie in the theater?

For me it would be Sonic 3, not like an insane amount of excitement but was looking forward to it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Outside of that it probably would have been Dune 1&2
