The thing is, at least in the comics, Sam does become Captain America, and that comic came out around 2012-2014. His MCU introduction was Captain America the Winter Soldier, and that was released in 2014 as well, so it could be a safe assumption that this was always the route they were going to take. As far as BLM goes and the other ideologies they introduced into the MCU, I have no idea about it, but sometimes mirroring the real world can produce awful and harmful outcomes, or it can go the other way entirely. If they had just recast Steve Roger's as a black man or came up with this idea out of nowhere, I could understand the wokeness behind it, but that's not the case here; they have basically been building it up to this plot from his introduction into the MCU. I agree that the movie doesn't look great but I don't think it has anything to do with Sam becoming Captain America. I also agree that they have been on a downhill trend since Endgame, they have chosen quantity over quality in my opinion and it shows.

NOT Captain America, but......"Blacktain Falcon" cannot be fixed with rewrites or reshoots. THE problem with it IS the race swap. Cap was NOT a black man and as long as they stick with erasing an iconic OG WHITE character to replace with a DEI ....check the box.....black guy, this movie's DOA. People are DONE with this DEI white replacement crap. We've had it with that BS. At least I have. I won't even watch it for FREE. The movie has been going on so long now, Disney is having to renegotiate all the contracts for the actors which could add as much as another $100M putting the "budget" closer to $650M before marketing. That puts it at $750M just to get it in theaters. It would need $1.5 BILLION just to break even. It's going to not only be the most expensive movie ever made, but it's going to make the John Cater flop look like a blockbuster hit in comparison. I can’t speak for others, but for me the cost now outweighs the enjoyment. For just myself and my 5 year old daughter to see Sonic 3 it was £30 ($38). In that instance we both had a great day out and I loved watching her reactions as much as the film. I don’t have any faith that Marvel can justify that sort of cost so I won’t bother. It’s not even worth watching on Disney Plus (and if it wasn’t for my wife paying for it we wouldn’t have that either). There’s no allure to Disney, they’ve tanked everything.

They started out with the message and ‘Orange man bad’, but the test audience reviews didn’t like that. Then after the election they could see the direction the audience was going. They’ve tried to keep changing the movie to lighten up on that but now it’s a jumble of a chopped up story. Plus, Sam just doesn’t have the super serum or a protective suit like Ironman or Batman. He’s just a brave guy with wings and a shield. Bucky would have been a better choice because he’s had alterations and has the desire to atone for his past.

The Main issue with this movie is Anthony Mackie. He is the least interesting actor to watch in the MCU. He gives very wooden monotone performances and is kind of a charisma vacuum. Definitely not watching this nonsense. This will do worse than The Marvels.
