Glad you enjoyed it. I recorded many races from 1975 to 1979 on the radio, before I started recording on video. I also would love to see the video of the race but doubt if it's available. I will be uploading more radio commentaries of big races in 75,76 ,77 ,78 shortly. Brian.

I remember watching this race with increasing incredulity.... I didn't think any horse could do that to Bula. What a performance it was

Gerry Newman was still only 18 or 19 here and was relatively unknown. An amazing performance by Captain Christy, the closing stages of the race have been uploaded elsewhere. Look forward to more of your radio broadcasts, cheers.
