In an interview with HLN's Nancy Grace, Dennis Davern -- the captain of the yacht actress Natalie Wood disappeared from nearly 30 years ago -- claims that Wood's husband, actor Robert Wagner, told Davern to wait hours before calling for help. Wood went missing from the deck of the yacht 'Splendour' late in the night on November 28, 1981. Her body was found hours later in the water about a mile away. Her death was ruled an accident at the time.

paschnn1 not only have they done nothing about Polanski, but they still throw him in movies. I don’t watch many but I know he had a small role in one of the Rush hour movies. He sodomizes the two leads. Also, his weird connection with the Dakota building where Lennon-thing went down was Rosemary’s baby location. And his connection with the Manson murders. This guy is up there in the NWO , dark occultist-sodomite/satanic cult. Who else would make a movie like Rosemary’s baby?

I believe he's responsible for her death but it's really sad how the police did not do their job properly...some have said Natalie was always drunk including that night...well so was Robert that night...her being drunk is no excuse for HIS rage....sounds to me he may have paid someone off within the force so they don't pursue him properly. This is murder n her life should be valued enough for Robert to have been a suspect there n then, it shouldn't matter if he was famous or not...anyone else would have been properly investigated and charged a long time ago especially while 2 ppl from another boat heard her cry out for help, THEY could of helped Natalie themselves but chose not to...the captain and the other guy on Natalie's boat would have been afraid to do something seeing Robert was in such a rage smashing a bottle...so sad those ppl ignored Natalie's cry's. 🙁

It looks like it, Glenn. If she had genuinely gone missing he would have soon sobered up, put on the light and sent out a search for her. Seems pretty conclusive. In Scotland they might draw a verdict of ‘not proven’ because there’s no solid evidence, except the bruises to her poor body.

It seems to me that Natalie Wood went on that boat with a husband she loved...and a friend. She doesn't come off as the selfish and childish one...but Robert Wagner comes off as argumentative, childish, and jealous. I doubt he had anything to be jealous of. Walken seems like a gentleman. So, it seems to me that the bruises didn't come from the Captain or Walken. What kind of a husband refuses to turn on the search light? How about refusing to call the restaurant? How about the Coast Guard? Oh, I guess he knew what happened to her. He didn't need to look for her.

Wagner and Wood got married once but divorced the 1st time because Natalie walked in on Wagner and his butler in bed. Wood walked in on Wagner and Walken doing something sexual hence Natalie confronted her bi-sexual husband which was what the Capt. claims he heard as screaming. Wagner and Walken did not murder Wood, but they sure let her die in the water knowing she was drunk (Gosh, do you see how many W's was in the boat) to save their careers because if she lived through that night - rumors would circulate about Both famous actors' gay acts. Davern, (Ship Capt.) got to fuck Natalie the night before and took advantage of Natalie's vulnerable state. All 3 guys on the boat were guilty of something. Davern lied the 1st time to the police, about sharing one night on the hotel room with Wood [they went on-shore], while Wagner and Walken were on the boat the night before. Because all 3 guys on the boat were guilty of something, the investigations were never cleared up because during that time they were all trying to hide some sexual mischievousness (Davern taking advantage of a married woman's vulnerability, and Wagner-Walken doing each other).

The burning question is why was she with him at all. If they were separated and in divorce talks.
@le_th_
@le_th_ 3 жыл бұрын
Burning for whom? She died and you see that as the salient question? Man, are your values and priorities f'ed up. For a decent human being with a conscience, properly calibrated moral compass, and empathy for others the "burning question" should be how did this woman die, and why is this man coming forward....clearly still visibly shaken and traumatized by the events he heard and witnessed, putting his entire future career on the line, but still knowing he has to tell what he saw anyway? ....but no, you're only interested in why she was with the man to whom she had been legally married for years??? Just wow... Surely you're not so ignorant and uninformed that you don't realize that married people talk before, during, and after they are legally separated, and that most couples spend quite a bit of time together even while separated, trying to work things out so that they don't end up having to divorce? ...or perhaps you're psychologically disordered and have all-or-nothing thinking patterns and every situation is either all-or-nothing for you, even a marriage? That would be a rather telling/revealing facet of your personality. Rather humorously, you chose the phrase "divorce talks"....and yet can't seem to grasp why a still-married couple might be together....you know, to continue trying to talk things through their issues BEFORE having to resort to going through the arduous process of divorce. Most psychologically healthy people believe in talking things through, going to therapy, going away for a weekend or even a couple of weeks on vacation, BEFORE they end their marriage. The more psychologically disordered people are the type who disagree/have a fight and instantly are done and walk away having no desire to talk anything through because they're incapable of ever truly loving or caring for someone enough to try everything it takes FIRST before cutting off all contact.

It was easier and cheaper to kill her than to go through a second divorce from her. Wagner was gay and perhaps very jealous of her ability to attract men (Walken?) and her profound talent. Where was Walken whilst this was going on and why didn't the Captain get him and insist on searching for Natalie? Neighbours on a boat close by heard her calling for help! It's mind numbing to think Wagner killed her and threw overboard, and set the dingy loose to make it look like an accident. Her sister Lana has never stopped asking questions.

This story is so sad and this man has been heartbroken for years over this. It's obvious what happened and I can't believe that Wagner wasn't ever charged in her death and kept acting well after. Not wanting to search for someone you love that you can't find anywhere on the boat after a huge argument that suddenly went quiet? Don't call the restaurant. Don't turn on the search light, but instead he poured the captain a glass of wine. Wth? He knew where she was and that is actions of a guilty man. This Captain has told this story many times and NOW they want to look into it? Why didn't they listen to him the first time? Me and everyone else on my block don't believe for one minute Robert Wagner killed Natalie Wood. First of all, why didn't the so called Captain come forward with his story the following morning telling police, not some 45 years later. The police would have arrested Robert Wagner immediately the following morning if they suspected him of drowning Natalie. Its like Robert Wagner said on all talk shows he's been on, He, Christopher Walken and Natalie Wood were all drunk. Robert and Christopher had a big argument, causing Natalie to leave jumping in their dingy. But she hit her head on the edge of the Splender falling into the water drowning. To answer your question why Natalie attempted to get in he dingy being terrified of the water: very simple: everyone who becomes intoxicated develops false courage, even me. Why do you think many people get behind the wheel of a car drunk then have car accidents. So Robert Wagner's now 91, and all this supposedly new evidence has suddenly emerged. Yeah right. But it never emerged while Robert Wagner continued filming HART TO HART for the next 3 years making it a total of 5 seasons. I bought the entire series on DVD. Robert Wagner is my TV idol and all time favorite actor. He's also my mentor.

Nathalie and Robert had a fight up above. Either he pushed her overboard or they fought for a while, then he went back downstairs. Apparently they, all 4 of them: Robert Wagner, Nathalie Wood, Christopher Walken, Louise Fletcher were partying it up, lots of drugs, lots of booze... mixed with jealousy, anger, etc, etc. Maybe Nathalie fell overboard in a drunken state. Apparently she couldn't swim and was deathly terrified of the water. Maybe in a drunken state, she decided to drop the dingy and row back to shore. Apparently on board, on the yacht there was very loud music playing, although near the time when Nathalie was drowning, people on shore and on nearby boats heard a woman cry out. Robert Wagner, Christopher Walken, nor Louise Fletcher refuses to talk about it. Really?

I respect the captain for speaking out. He is obviously tormented by it all and seems genuinely to have cared about Natalie, unlike Wagner, who seems to have no conscience and comes off so cold and studied. I think Robert Wagner is a murderer and directly caused Natalie Wood's death. Wagner has a facade of respectability but something dark lays within. Everything about the situation, night, and circumstance was so odd, for want of a better word. Robert and the captain sat there drinking for 2 hours as Natalie was drowning? How could the captain not have heard Natalie screaming for help when a woman in a not-too-far-away yacht heard it? I love Natalie Wood but she and Christopher weren't doing right in the sense that why did Christopher stay on the yacht when he knew the tension he and Natalie's rapport was causing Natalie's husband? And why did Natalie keep being so engaged with Christopher knowing her husband was seething over it? I know there was a lot of drinking but still, it is such unhealthy behavior from three adult persons. I don't know how Wagner and Christopher can live with their consciences. I find Christopher's complete silence about Natalie's death from day one and over all this time disturbing. I saw some excerpts from Wagner's book in which he spoke so negatively about Natalie, as if, in essence, she were a so-called wayward woman. To suggest or say such a thing shows an unsettling contempt for Natalie. That isn't love. Natalie was a wonderful actress, a good person, and a lovely woman. It upsets and saddens me tremendously that she died in such a traumatic way - completely petrified and knowing her husband did it and did nothing to save her.

It seems to me Wagner was a bully and the captain was fearful of what might happen if he crossed him. Why did he want his beautiful wife dead that is the million $ question. Was he anxious she was getting fed up with his bully boy behaviour and might leave him. His ego was so huge he couldn't have dealth with it. Or was he having an affair?. Or was he living off her wealth and pretending he was the wealthy one?. Or was he a murderer ;. period. Murderers are very different to normal ppl and normal ppl are unaware of the complexity of their thinking. Natalie was aware at that point in time when she spent the night on land that she was in imminent and very real danger for her life and over thought it instead of going to the authorities to gain a barring order against him to guarantee her safety. Her gut instincts were being ignored but she might have felt a sense security with the captains presence on board and was there another person a male on board?. This case has been so corrupt right from the start the police have a lot of explaining to do here.

Davern met them bc he was the guy who sailed the boat to them from another state when the wagners first purchased the boat. Florida I think. Because he knew the boat so well and had no plans in his life he stayed on with the boat at the request of the wagners.

He is just as guilty, a bad, bad captain, a puppet in the hands of Jesus Christ Superstar Robert Wagner!!!!

Ones quarters on a boat (yacht is so pretentious) usually a small room with bunk now power boats have beds are state rooms. Not as Nancy said State Cabinet LOL THE "LIVING Area is the Salon or Grand Salon. Mariners like to stick to traditional terms. I realize the captain was an employee and Wagner seems to be on quite the power trip but he didn't fight at all which makes me wonder what else he was used to with Wagner. Or anyone would have fought he obviously cared for her and friends. I grew up on boats in that area and a lot of time at Catalina. I think Wagner wanted to move the boat that night when he was so angry and get out of Avalon a city on shore and water, very lit up lots of people. The only other cove with a restaurant is the Isthmus and there's a world of difference between the two. Far fewer people, much darker, boats here and there spaced not full harbor, open darkness. I think that is why, why else at night in bad weather it'd be tricky enough in the dark. It's a fairly long trip. Premeditation in my mind. He was probably hoping her body would make open ocean before calling for help. Lots of blue sharks out there in the morning, maybe they'd make it all disappear. Can't they make Walken testify? At all? Sounds like that wasn't the first tense or loud argument on that boat and that captain seems she'll shocked by The loss of natalie like that but I think he's seen and had to shut up and do his job plenty before but just not the murder of Wagner's wife loved by all. But a lot goes on out there in the dark people space out for privacy and want to get away from it all. Leaves wide open water no one close and little or no light at night. The ocean keeps the secrets. I feel for her being afraid of the water and dying like that but before they ALWAYS specified that she was afraid of the water at night the dark water. It bothers me at night too and I lived on it always. And I've been abused by a violent spouse and the twisted minds do get off on making your worst nightmare come true. They should be sentenced to their worst nightmare.

The responsibility of crew and guests by the Captain supersedes Owners desires. He should have been prosecuted for a) not reporting incident immediately (via VHF radio, for a missing person), and b) failure to take action to use the searchlight to attempt to locate. All members aboard are the responsibility of the Captain.

The fact that Wagner for no good reason did not want the search light on is that he did not want her to be found. He was completely guilty.

Why was it okay for this man to listen to Robert Wagner? Why was it okay when a woman is no where to be found on a ship, he knows she's somewhere out there and does not know how to take care of herself in the water, not to turn on the search lights? Not to contact the coast guard? It doesn't matter who is responsible for Natalie's death. This man didn't do anything to save her and now he's making money off of her death?

When she was like 9yo, she was walking with her mom down a studio corridor and they passed Wagner. Natalie turned to her mom and said, "I'm going to marry that man!". Goes to show that things such as "love at first sight" and "intuition" are often B.S.

I saw an earlier interview of this guy, and he said that she fell in and was screaming for help, and that Wagner wanted to teach her a lesson, after their fight, by letting her swim for a while and that she eventually drown. There was also another witness, on another boat, who heard her calling for help and tried to find her. Why has this guys story changed?

Nutmeg thats the story I heard too and is prob the truth to it all. You must remember they were all drugged up and were also drinking booze. They weren't thinking clearly and not using good judgement. If this story could be proven Wagner and everyone else on the boat who knew she was in the water but didin['t rescue her would all be in jail for murder right now.

Those three males on the boat were obviously stupid drunken cowards. How come someone who presumably loved her could have allow Natalie to be crazy, lonely, drunken and lost in the middle of the night on the deck of the boat floating over the bay in the water which was haunting for Natalie. Wagner had been a real skunk back in 1981... The rest is history... Rest in Peace Natalie. Love you forever, you witty, beautiful, charming and charismatic actress...
