That's pretty funny. I bought a Steeldive some time ago and sold it because I didn't like the shiny bezel insert. I bought this exact same watch from Watchdives earlier this year and my thoughts on it mirror your exactly! I put mine on a green rubber Uncle Seiko strap that is just about perfect for it. It is a great watch.

I know this will uspet Captian Williard enthusiast but I'd argue the original 6105-8110 without a true screw down crown labeled as a diver is severally flawed and the re-release missed the target including the crazy price. To me, Chinese watch manufactures are the true enthusiast and get it right with their own versions. The Rdunae Captain Willard is the best you can get and gets so many things right when compared to the original and the reissue. The more budget freindly Steeldive is an excellent bargin at $50 as well.

I kinda agree… as much as Id love to have the original Seiko, I don’t see the value in it… if it was 500€ - it would still be expensive but doable…

Thank you! This one is really worth considering… I got a comparison with steel dive version - I would say build wise, they are on very similar level - this one having better bracelet and clasp… but the dial and handset on this one is just another level for me…

I have the Watchdives PVD Coated Tuna Automatic Dive Watch. WD does a great job and is a cut above the Addiesdive and Steeldive. I just purchased the Retro Willard after watching your awesome video in 9 min and 43 seconds. What got me hooked was the bronze hands with the matt bezel. That green is the new black it goes with everything. Again you have an awesome channel , informative, honest, and entertaining.

Man, this dial is just...wow! I've mentioned in another video that I have a Prospex Cap. Willard SPB151 (black dial), but when I got it I almost went for the SPB153 (green dial). This WD looks even better! These watches wear sooo well (7.2 inch here). "Funny" thing: unfortunately, for security reasons I don't feel 100% confident on wearing it at several beaches in my city without risk of being mugged 😢 (watches of certain looks and/or price tiers are targets), therefore I also got a SD1970 for exact U$ 46.38 (!!) as a beater and I've been wearing it for swimming in pools and in the sea (10m - 15m deep free dives) with zero worries of losing it. Of course it is not on the same league of the Prospex (wich I wear WAY less than I'd like to), but it's been solid on just -3 sec/day, no bezel misalignment, solid water resistance and if i lose it... C'mon, it's U$ 46! BTW I'm not bothered at all by the ceramic bezel but I totally get you and - at the end of the day - if it put you in the path of this gorgeous green WD, nobody can say you were wrong 😀.

Hahha thank you very much, hombre! That is exactly what I meant!!! I think watches like this just have their place in the collection, even if you own the prospex… for a lot of people (me definitely included) 1k for a watch is as high as they want to go and would never consider it to be a tool / beater watch… where this? Looks the business and for the money you can take it to any adventure 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for sharing that… btw totally not jealous of SPB151… not jealous at all… at all!!! 😂 Cheers!

I also have trouble matching my green steeldive to straps. I love the green on the watchdive. My only concern with this watch that has prevented me from buying it. Does the lume pip fall off after knocking it? This is a reported problem in the Heimdallr.

Hi, the loom pip on mine is still fine and I don’t exactly treat the watch nicely 😁 so I wouldn’t be that concerned to be honest

I think all Chinese brands above 80 bucks regulate their movements. I have 4 seikos, 2 orients and a citizen, running as expected. And then I have this green willard, San Martin, Heimdallr and a few Addiesdive mechaquartz watches. All chinese watches with NH35 run within 5 seconds.

Great video! Not sure if it was just me, but the audio was a bit messed up. I recently bought my first homage from steeldive, and I think it also punches well above the price point! Cant justify buying a Sub atm, so this will do.

That is really a nice green. I have the black Steeldive and I like it a lot but my Seiko Turtle wears like it was lighter although it is one gram heavier. However they do that. 🕐⚙️🍸

Seiko is pulling a lot of magic when it comes to wearability 😁 that is one of the reasons why we love them so much, right? Turtle is on my radar for some time also 🤦‍♂️ I like the dark manta save the ocean… that dial feels surreal… Thanks for watching, hombre!

Thank you! I have only watched a review of that one, never handled one in person, so cannot say, I just don’t particularly like the name :/ Rdunae… like WatchDives is not exactly home run either 😂 the watch I was wearing is my Seiko Flightmaster with mustard nato strap from cns :) love that one

Gorgeous green! I think I need this too... :D I have a Steeldive, the ceramic bezel insert is OK for me, but this aluminium is better. Small complaint: the audio is terrible, you need a new microphome, mate.

Trust me you do, the green is awesome in person, I tried but I don’t think I can do it justice…. And yes the mic is horrible and it somehow gets worse 😂 will have to get a new one… thanks for watching!!!
