It might have been covered in the one of your other videos, but is 'sway' equivalent to the Eth that you spend to make actions? I guess the question is that can you convert sway to ETH and ETH to sway?

SWAY is the in game currency. You are however able to convert SWAY to ETH at whatever the current conversion rate. So if you make a bunch of SWAY selling some fissile materials, you can technically convert that SWAY into ETH, but you don’t do that directly in game. At least not yet.

@@Eetherway I guess my next question, what determines the rate? I understand that ETH is limit, I was assuming that SWAY was created in game, unlimited only to player activity. But I'm guessing now that sway is not created through player activity, maybe it's seeded by the devs? or created as a stable coin equivalent to ETH? Now I'm confused

@@Eetherway Ok I think I understand now. SWAY has no affiliation with Influence? It is its own currency. Influence just decided to use it for its own currency. * Ok another update... It is their own currency.

@@roberthiggins8234It actually an Influence pun, in that you have to “hold sway” to exert your influence. The exchange rate is like any kind of foreign exchange between two currencies (such as CAD to USD), where SWAY is the Adalian currency and ETH is the currency of the infrastructure the game runs on.

@@roberthiggins8234 SWAY is Influence's currency like ISK. The difference is that the team cannot just print supply. It's dictated by by an algorithmic system. So while it's our currency, we don't control it. At launch the team controls the initial supply of it, which is already bucketed for team, community, and player incentives. Once that supply is in the communities hands, we don't control it, we cannot take it away, and it's on a decentralized infrastructure that allows you to buy, sell, and trade it inside and outside the game without needing permission or having to break terms of service. We do not promise any monetary value, and at the end of the day it's just a game currency. Where it gets more interesting due to how this system is built, is that 3rd party developers can integrate SWAY into their spin off mini games, services, etc. and let players spend that SWAY directly. The currency is additionally inflationary, and inflates through player activity. The more the currency is used compared to the previous cycle (likely monthly) the inflation rate is set. So depending on this more SWAY enters the system to keep some stability in markets. Inflation goes to players through random events, and to the team as that's our main source of revenue. We then sell that SWAY in the in-game store (which pulls from a Decentralized Exchange where any player with SWAY can also sell SWAY. We do no control the DEX)
