I always tell people who are new to drones to remember the 2 "P"s, Which are Point and Push. You "Point" the drone the direction you want it to go, then "Push" forward on the right stick. Those instructions to point and push have always helped me when I was instructing someone who was new to drone flying. No need to learn all the orientations all at once if you just remember to point and push when you are new.
@adakalyoncu1913
@adakalyoncu1913 Жыл бұрын
It will be ineffective when you get in a condition where you have lots of obstructions and your gps doesn't work and you have to react in seconds to keep the drone from drifting. Yes it is a good way to not worry about orientation but if you asked me, I wouldn't let anyone who can't hover tail in, side orientations and nose in, in full atti mode to go to a high altitude long range flight, as a lot of things can go wrong at any time and need to be reacted fast and effectively. You might smash into a wall before you can yaw out and push forwards, whereas you can use the cyclic even diaognally to get the drone out of the obstruction if you know your orientation and can react fast

I've been 'heavily' involved in RC aircraft for close to 50 years, primarily gliders & sailplanes, and was fortunate to start when the systems were close to what we are using now, and had always wanted to fly helicopters, but they were too twitchy at the time and way too expensive as well - at least for the average everyday guy and drones were not available in the civilian market at the time. Started looking at drones a few years ago, but being retired and with limited funds the drones I preferred were still to pricey, so I decided to wait until they had worn out the "newness" and could be sold at a price I was willing to pay, so I really appreciated the information you presented and will take a serious look at a few of the higher-end drones you showed. Thank you for taking the time to share your information with us.

There other options in buying a DJI they sell factory refurbished units, that are completely gone through and are just like new and much cheaper, that is the way I went and got a Phantom 3 Standard SE for $430.00 dollars( the last time I checked the price of an SE on Amazon it was $700.00), just like new, came with everything a new one would straight from the DJI store. DJI also has a program that cost $60.00 dollars a year, that if your drone fly's off on you they will replace it and you the have the option of renewing that program annually, check that out. That I don't think you can get that anywhere else?

You can use a tablet if don't have a phone the drone apps are usually downloadable from google play or the manufacture's website. One of the biggest problems is screen glare in daylight, so a lot of these screens are just not going to bright enough to eliminate sun glare, so my advice is to buy one or make some kind of sun shield for the screen, it helps a lot. Another word of advice for beginners if you are flying it outdoors put your telephone number on it with a message saying if found please call this number. :), been down this road.

Man that power egg is a unique looking drone! Every week I change my mind on which drone I want next lol. The more I learn the more I figure out what my needs are. Its hard for me to want a drone that has any less than a 3 axis gimbal now that I know how important it is to stable footage. That an SD card slot and at least optical flow or ultrasonic Sensors. Since I have the x12 I’m thinking next buy will either be the mini, the air or the fimi but I also have been looking deeper into racing quads. Who knows what I’ll end up getting! One important thing you might cover in the future is whether a given drone has an INTERNAL battery for the video subsystem and whether it is user replaceable. I've read the specs on a few drones that have a *separate battery/cell for the video subsystem* and from what I've seen it is NOT designed to be user replaceable and/or definitely not easily as swappable as the flight batteries. With heavy use, I'd expect a video battery replacement to be every year or so with a *nominally* 300 charge/recharge cycle lithium cell, because the capacity of a lithium cell decreases with every charge/recharge cycle. After TBD charge/recharge cycles it won't last long enough to send/capture video the entire flight. One may even find that even if flight time per flight remains relatively long, the amount of time you can acquire video in each flight decreases a lot more quickly. For example if I use 3 *swappable* batteries for flight which I can change out, then within a year I may still have a long flight time with a flight battery pack, but the video system battery...which I can NOT easily swap out...will only record and transmit video for a much shorter period of time. With a new drone I might start with 25min of flight and 25min of video, and after a year be getting 20min of flight with a flight battery pack, but only 10 minutes of video because I couldn't swap-out the video battery during flights. That means that no matter how many flight battery packs I bring with me, I'm still limited in how much video I can acquire during a day because the video battery eventually loses capacity with each flight...and I can't swap it out.

Another great video. I also really like the new graphics at the start. If I may make one (hopefully constructive) comment, when the video started I made a grab for the volume as it was very loud, but then when you came on I had to turn it back up. I am much more interested in hearing what you have to say (because it's always useful and interesting) than the intro music. Hope you don't mind me saying that. Other than that it was another really info packed video and clearly a lot of work went into it. Very useful. Thanks.

My first drone was the first Mavic Pro after a few inexpensive quadcopters. Looking to buy a Mavic Mini for its much smaller size and easier to take with me when I travel! :-)
@adyz
@adyz 4 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I did...got fed up with the complexity of the pro and the size of everything all in...so far the mini is pretty sweet...not as high quality as the pro and not as many options but much more simple in all ways, super portable, much more convenient batteries, great flight time, they don't self discharge and so on...if you're aware of the limitations you'll be happy with the swap

A 7" Tablet with 5G is a whole lot cheaper than a phone..that's all I use..mount it on a tripod sometimes, or modified the phone holders to hold the tablet.

Find out where your actual antenna is inside your transmitters and which way it's orientated. Make sure Drone Control link is not disturbed by 5g link. I like remotes with external antennas that can whip down, away from your phone. It's crazy, that phone i just bought a month ago doesn't have 5g wifi, yet my 4yr old 7" Samsung tablet has it !!
@HippyDave57
@HippyDave57 4 жыл бұрын
@@svenmohamad8646 I don't have to go through all that..my 7" Tablet can reach out well over 300 meters which is perfect for me since in my State there are a lot of restrictions on where you fly. My 10" Tablet reaches out 320 meters. Both tablet together cost $180..far under the cost of a 5G phone, & for now I don't need the signal to go any further than what it does. That's more $$ in my pocket to get my next Drone! ;)

@@HippyDave57 Seems like you can get 5g Wifi, ONLY in High Priced Phones,,, Weird. All my old & cheap Tablets have 5g Wifi. Know any quick mods/trix to mounting a Bigger Tablet on to a remote control? Or even simpler way of mounting it on a tripod? There's got to be a real easy way,, Reminder,,, if flying in a park with 5g antennas, aways have them far and on your Back.

A drone that I recommend for beginners would be the holy stone hs120d it has a movable camera, a follow me and return home option along with a low voltage return home ability, it's $110 on Amazon it lasts for about 16-18 minutes the camera runs at 1080p and you can also adjust how high or far the drone can go before you fly it

And sometimes the cell phone is more expensive than the drone :))....FFS PowerEgg is a beast.....thing is that's not such a begginer drone (as the official price was in the beginning 1000E), but now it's cheaper :P (God bless Powervision) What i do not really like about the Powervision that it's hard to connect to my phone, but other than that, it's a great drone after it connects. P.S.: I've bought it from the Powervision dealership at 390$ with a spare battery :D. (not dealershit, but their homepage)
