Any hobby is about experimenting, whether it’s RC or race cars or what ever. It’s just natural to want to improve your tools of the hobby and get the most out of it. That is as much a part as the actual flying part. I for one love to experiment and then test the outcome. I don’t think it is a waste of time, but a big part of the over all experience. We love to spend or money on our hobby too. We are not adults when it comes to our toys, but we pretend to be. Loved the video Cap👍👍

I recently purchased the avata 2, drone only. I have been flying it with my goggles and controller 2. The avata 2 definitely feels smoother when flying and is quieter then the avata 1. I do like it a little better than the 1. I haven’t had any issues using the 2 gear. Now I wish dji would come out with an avata 2 that was a little smaller and at the 250 gram mark. Smaller so I could fly it through smaller spaces! That’s what I enjoy is flying the avata through small thight gaps and spaces!

Watching, it looks like it slowed itself down as soon as it exceeded 90kph, but it could be flight profile: OEM props gained altitude by about 7-8m. The MAS runs, your altitude runs had gains of 20-30m (~41-68m on Run 1 and 15-45m on Run 2). I've seen seen speeds on a Neo video that were higher due to a dive so I'd imagine the triple climb rate had an impact.

@CAPTAINDRONE798Ай бұрын
Normally the Flight Control dictates the speed of the spinning motor. So if the flight controller detects no further lift power is required, it reduces impulses to the motors. Therefore, on a drone, helicopter and plane, a 4 blade can spin slower and provide the same thrust, so in essence on a drone, flight time is increased.

Normally the more blades the more efficient. This is because the flight control on a drone just expects a result when you move the joysticks, so when the result is achieved it tells the motors to cease increased output (this all happens in nano seconds over and over).

@CAPTAINDRONE7984 ай бұрын
@@MattDvcbased on DJI SPECS, the AVATA 2 can reach just over 96 Km/h in manual mode with no wind. However, as many of us reviewers on KZbin have realized when we test DJI Drones, we never reach the advertised max speed. In order for a claimed speed to be valid it means every human in the world could obtain it on each try when there is no wind. I tried 4 times in this video and tried many other times in other vids. The only way to get over 100 km/h is to dive the drone which is exactly what most people tend to do on KZbin.

i’ve gone over 100kph with standard props… i’m sure it could go faster with standard props but i think its gps speed limited
@CAPTAINDRONE7984 ай бұрын
If you dive from sky to ground then you can increase speed but that is not realistic of the capabilities in a back to back test. In this video the speed test was conducted 4 times in manual mode and all results are close which means it is accurate. Everytime someone tests the speed of a drone, airplane or helicopter there will always be someone who says they went even faster. Watch KZbin vids of speed tests on RC planes… they all dive down to the ground which is not how to correctly do a speed test. If I drop my car off a cliff it would probably exceed the speed I’d get in a short distance on a road.
@thekiteboatparty35684 ай бұрын
i agree, i guess my point was that i see much more effect on top speed from wind than from a dive, probably due to the drones terminal velocity. So if there is any wind at all i feel these tests are invalid because wind regularly changes direction and gusts. Regards the dBA measurement why not set a precise distance from the drone to the meter? I love the colourful master airscrew props and i loved your explaination of how to fit them so than you for that. I have fond memories of the plane i built as a child with its finger munching master airscrew props. But i also love and respect DJI products so i just like comparisons to be fair and as precise as possible. Anyway thanks for your video.

I find it quite surprising that DJI, a company known for its cutting-edge engineers, has intentionally chosen propellers that generate more noise...🤔, reduce the Avata 2’s flight time...🤔, and limit its speed...🤔. Honestly, I’m quite skeptical about these unofficial propellers. First, I really don’t like the noise they produce. Second, the fact that they have 4 blades instead of 3 seems to add unnecessary weight to the device. Third, the material used doesn’t visually inspire confidence. ⚠ The sound of the unofficial propellers does indeed have a higher pitch (+2 tones) compared to the original ones, which DJI specifically wanted to avoid for this second Avata. That said, the color is quite nice… I think I wont take risk and stick with the official propellers, which were specifically studied and designed for the Avata 2.

Facebook is massively full of scams. Do you know why they exist? Because a crazy number of people fall for them and Facebook makes no attempt to remove them. Thanks for educating people.

So... I've been reading the Bible, Book of Revelations to make sure there nothing in there about Steve saying positive things about DJI being a sign of an upcoming Apocalypse... I mean, I've already purchased ice skates for when I get sent to Hell!😂

Waste of money. You think DJI aren't experts in propeller design and don't already include the best optimised blades for their products?
@CAPTAINDRONE7984 ай бұрын
In the video I brought up the point that only people who buy DJI Drones are confused as to why a pilot changes props. If you were an FPV pilot flying all different types of FPV drones you would change the props and batteries to different kinds on a daily basis.

Right ? I’m not an FPV pilot , so I can’t say much about the difference in flight characteristics of the MAS props. But I DO agree about DJI engineers already putting the best props on any of their drones. I own 4 of them and just bought the Avata 2. What I REALLY would like to see is DJI put out their own colored props. Thanks for posting Steve, always informative AND entertaining videos !

There is some truth to what you say but this is a hobby for me. I enjoy tinkering and this hobby very much. I absolutely love this drone and I am happy to shell out 20$ with shipping to see if I get a different experience from it. It's not a waste of money for those willing to spend it to try something new in a hobby they enjoy. Do I need them? No, but do I want them yes ! :D I have some nice footage I took this weekend of me flying the Avata 2 along the Massachusetts coast line on my channel.

Dji hasn’t been making props as long as master aircrew. Different props for different scenarios.

@CAPTAINDRONE7984 ай бұрын
In the FPV hobby there are 2 blades for racing, then 3 blades for cornering, 4 blades for efficiency and 5 and 6 blades for long range.

I like how in all your avata 2 reviews you never mentioned that the drone itself can quick charge up to 30 watts max, the 3 battery charger is max 60 watts fast charging, while the controller and headset are only 10 watts. You also failed to mention that the horizon steady eis only appears as an option if your video is set to 4k60fps and lower. The horizon steady stabilizer option is not available in 4k100fps! And you call yourself Captain Drone! You also failed to elaborate on what sd cards dji recommend for this specific drone. Those are just a few details you failed to provide your audience! Normal guy here wanting all the details, watching all these videos i can of yt reviewers like yourself that make a living at this yet you can't even provide all necessary information when reviewing products that you specialize in is unacceptable!

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 i know it's difficult, but the comment is in reference to all your avata 2 content. Many of you content creators bok at this or that with the avata not having this much power or the other. Well, i encourage you to check out Dronarchy who flies the avata like none of you mediocre drone reviewers! Dronarchy is the bonafide pro!

I'm going to be extremely blunt. These are dogs**t props. Just had one brake. Drone ascended to over 2800 ft. I had no control. Return to home wouldn't work. Drone would not descend. Eventually the battery died and the Avata 2 fell from the sky. DO NOT PURCHASE these props.

Love the positioning advantage of DJI vs IFLIGHT ETC. , wish hobbyist quadcopters would start ballin up more on sensors etc to make indoor flying easier, also wish DJI would Ball up and go hard on Speed and have some speed models that go over 120mph. No f'n aroundddddd. But oh well.
