10:55 quick tip, you can actually make the drone look side to side with the motion controller by pressing lightly on the throttle, just enough that the circle shows up on the goggle. There is actually two steps when pressing down on the throttle, 1st is to let the pilot view 360 degrees, and the 2nd one when you actually press the throttle down to the max then the drone will fly to the indicated direction. I'm glad i found your video, I just bought my avata 2 a week ago... still learning 😊

I'll have mine, the full 3-battery kit, in a week or two. Can't wait! You probably could have mentioned DJI's "Care Express" insurance options, I always get the 2-year, 4-replacement coverage (my Avata 1 has that still). This particular product, like its predecessor, is among the LEAST expensive DJI drones to replace if you happen to damage it, or camera system, or battery (compared to the Air series ... very inexpensive!) ... anyhow, thank you for your insightful Avata 2 features presentation here Steve.... happy flying!

Nice video. I bought an Air 3 and it also does not come with a charger. And I also discovered it slowly charges when using inexpensive chargers. It took over 12 hours to charge three batteries. It was something that other demo channels did not point out. Overall, it is not big deal, mostly annoying to find out after the fact.

Hey there captain drone. You are my favourite UAV KZbinr. And not because you are a Canuck. Yes I love that you are a fellow Commonwealth Brother and use the correct form of unit measurement like we do in Australia and the rest of the Commonwealth.... metric! Lol, it's funny and unfortunate you have to convert metres to feet for the imperial Yanks viewing. And just to let you Americans know, "Yank" is a general term for Americans used by Brits from the motherland/ Australians/ New Zealanders and I believe Canucks (Canadians) use the term as well. So Commonwealth nations. So thank you for your amazing and highly detailed work! 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦🇦🇺🇬🇧🇦🇺🪃
@CAPTAINDRONE798Күн бұрын
Ha ha, yup sometimes I do receive comments from a few people asking me why in the world would I list distance and speed in METRIC and not IMPERIAL. You can guess which citizens send such comments. In Canada we call our neighbours to the south of us “Americans” (we’ve never used the term “Yanks”, also a term popularized in many war movies). Since I’m an old guy, when I was a kid, the IMPERIAL system was our unit of measurement. Then, still as a kid, it changed to METRIC, but many of the older generation at that time didn’t wish to change. So many people my age grew up with both IMPERIAL and METRIC. My children are all 100% METRIC and get confused if I speak in IMPERIAL… unless it comes to cooking ingredients (strangely still often IMPERIAL).
@МилошЧУЉАКОВАНОВИЋ15 сағат бұрын
@CAPTAINDRONE798 haha okay then. Well it's like Canuck, it's a term of fellow comradeship and endearment to call Canadians from our view. Yanks is just a general term we use here in Australia mainly because the motherland also does. Wow, well Australia changed from Imperial to metric in the late 60's. That's why the road speel.limit signs here are a red circle black number on a.rectangulad white background. As the workers could than simply post the new Kilometre limit over the old Mph limit and looks the same. Well in Australia is was the same thing. Our ties to the motherland being the main issue. So I absolutely love the metric system. The fact it's simplified like 9mm and not imperial 3/16th etc is the best. It's so funny watching Americans listening to Commonwealth people and our use of metric. When they can't compute the equal measurement in imperial. I mean how can you not love the fact that 1 tonne is 1000 kilograms and you just carry the zeros to keep going up or down. Funnily enough I've noticed more and more yanks (Americans) using metric. But they spell one unit of measurement incorrectly. They write METERS but in fact here in Australia we use British English and it's spelt METRES. 😆 I think most military personnel from the US can easily use metric. As NATO is literally all metric apart from some aspects of like in the motherland 🇬🇧. Where in sure in the near future, they will also adopt the metric measurement system for their roads. Going from MPH to KMPH. One aspect that a lot of people pushed back against here in the early seventies was making the Australian currency decimal. Going from Australian Pounds to Australian Dollars. The only aspect of imperial measurement that I like. That's interesting that in Canada, that the Imperial measurement metod for cooking/ food etc is not yet metric. Here its completely metric. Except for the baby boomers who still say Feet and Quid (Pounds) instead of metres and dollars. Maybe a lot of the ingredients you are cooking with are imported from the US, or they are exported and have to be in imperial for the US? Funny how Americans don't even realise they are using metric. With the 9mm pistol cartridges and other things like Grams etc. Are you a Quebecois? Noticed you visiting your beautiful father and family there. Unless you are Anglo and just always lived in Quebec? I love making Canadian Cesar drinks. Andi get the original clamato to make them 😊 Another thing we love about our fellow Canadian Commonwealth brothers is your contribution to society with the epic and underrated show that is LETTERKENNY. It's played free-to-air here. Oh and I have relatives that live on Vancouver island. I absolutely love Vancouver and Seattle. The pacific northwest is so underrated. Especially the greater BC area. I can assume by your Ontario LIcence plates that you live in Greater TORONTO? just an educated guess lol. Or maybe you live in London Ontario. Lol.

Thank you for another video that is spot with all the info you need and none of the unnecessary fluff. I am a cameraman and 107 pilot that is looking to try fpv. I have stayed away from DJI for many years because of the painful process of unlocking the geofencing in order to fly. Since the Avata 2 is mainly for fpv, does it have the same unlocking issues? Has DJI streamlined the unlocking process? This may be something you could include if you do an Avata 2 follow up video. Thanks again for the great content.

Yo Captain Drone! You can use the dot with the motion controller to access and manipulate menu controls. That little bit of play in the trigger before you feel tension is how you select. Then just aim the dot off the menu and select again and the menu disappears… so like when you were selecting head tracking, you do it with the motion controller so you don’t have the aircraft spinning around

Steve, great and informative info especially for beginners .. However, you did emphasize the ease for beginners and how quickly they could be doing real estate ... You probably know what i am going to say.. They can not do real estate until they are FAA 107 certified.. I hope you point this out in a future video... Otherwise a lot of people might think they can start a side business and they cannot... I am not a negative person but you did repeat the real estate angle many times and for the safety of those involved I wanted to drop you a note.. If I could have done so in private, i would have... Keep up the good work... Joe

I just got mine a few days ago. I'm curious about the "beginner mode" rates compared to the rates you set in the video for flying indoors. There does not seem to be a way to check them without taking it out of beginner mode, which I'm not ready to do. But whatever they are, it is very easy to fly around my very small home-office without getting into trouble. I've been flying a Cetus Pro (only in Normal mode) for about six weeks so maybe that helped, otherwise I'm very much a beginner. great video btw.

Very good video, thank you. I would like to complete it with a criterion or perspective. As I saw in another test, what counts most for a beginner is the level of mastery of the drone they can reach and the amount of time spent. These are assumptions based on many videos I have watched about the Avata 2 before purchasing it. It's just that it's very expensive.... Let's assume that 100% is complete FPV mastery of this drone including manual sport flight and acrobatics. It is the physical limit of Avata 2. Avata 2 with motion control piloted by a beginner: you will reach 50% of the maximum capacity of flying this Avata 2 in FPV (it would be 100%). That maybe after about 2 hours of flight. After 4 additional hours the same beginner with motion control would master approximately 70% of 100% After 10 additional hours with the motion controller and the Avata 2 and using all its options such as head tracking, sport modes and easy acro, among others, the same beginner will reach 75% or 80% of the 100% of the Avata 2. After 14 hours with motion control, 10 hours in the simulator, 10 hours live with the controller with manual sticks, and about 20 falls and broken parts, the same beginner would reach 95% or almost 100%. If you have patience. Then each person decides to what extent they want to master this hobby and this drone. I imagine many beginners will be happy to reach 80% after 16 hours of flying. I'm happy to reach 80% of the Avata 2 and that's why as soon as I saved up, I bought it. It would be nice to have a good, more serious comparative study than what I wrote. If you know of any, comment.

If you just take your finger off the trigger re motion controller, it will stop automatically! No need to hit the orange pause button! That's only when you wanna access the menus in the goggles etc with the pointer.

Steve, would the head tracking feature be more useful as a directional input Vs just looking around and going straight where you aren't looking????
@CAPTAINDRONE7986 ай бұрын
Unfortunately no. The drone does not fly where you look.

Great video as always. Not a fan of the motion controller. Why are we trying to pull away from a normal transmitter??

Please explain your question as I do not understand what you are asking.

DJI is just giving more options for more pep to come get there stuff. If they can get everyone to try it the more sells they make. When I go to flying events it's the motion controller I teach to non drone flyers. They all love it. I teach the reg controller to anyone looking harder. I've only taught my Grand daughter the reg controller.

@CAPTAINDRONE798 I feel like dji is trying push their motion remote. You now don't get a choice. Your dji will come with the motion remote and if you want a "normal" remote you are stuck paying extra for one. Thanks for all your reviews as always!

Just got the Remote Controller 3, haven’t tried it yet, not in a rush cuz having plenty of fun with motion controller for now. Great tips though! Wow! Still would like to screen capture like I can on the Mini 4 Pro. Any ideas? Post?
@CAPTAINDRONE7985 ай бұрын
SCREEN CAPTURE is a PHONE thing, so you would do it on your phone connected to your goggles (all phones have screen capture).
