I been venturing over to Manual mode but afraid to turn the attitude off because I didn't understand the settings and there's a big difference between flying for real vs a sim like liftoff or Uncrashed. Now I can plug in some parameters, practice, and pop of the training wheels er... props I guess 😆 Thank you for the excellent and easy to understand explanation! I needed this more than you know lol.

Hi NJ, thanks for the video. I think I have my axis rates nailed, well in the sim anyway. I find the throttle less punchy than feels great have you played with throttle sensitivity at all? BTW I am in North London would love to go fly some time.
@NJ-Tech22 күн бұрын
@angusfraser5562 hey thanks for the comment. So the one thing I tend to leave where it is and keep completely linear is the throttle. It's the lifeline of every manoeuvre and you don't want the feel to change as this can mess with your muscle memory. I'd advise to just keep that as it is. Where do you fly in North London? Cheers, NJ

Fantastic video, is there any chance you could do a video comparing these rates to actual rates in a simulator like Liftoff or Velocidrone.i am loving these rates and would like to replicate them in these sims.many thanks
@NJ-Tech9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! So i havent flown the sim in years, and although they are a great place to try out new manoeuvres and work on muscle memory, they often don't reflect the real world. What i mean by that is the physics of the sim is usually just too perfect without really reflecting wind, weight, floatyness etc. Although they are getting better they still dont really tranlate to the real thing that well. What i suggest you do is tune your rates as i described and get the quad doing what you want first. If you are a little worried just practise your manoeuvres nice and high up so you have lots of time to recover if you mess things up. Then as you get a feel for things you will know how to tune the sime rates. They almost never directly translate from real world to sim anyway. Ive tried it and often to feel like my quad, the number are vastly different. You will know if it feels wrong in the sim, just use the steps in this video to tune the sim to feel like your real quad. Hope that helps!
@alexbucklandphoto9 ай бұрын
Thanks Neil, I am mostly flying in the Sim to get some stick time in,especially when the weather is bad or in the evenings. Unfortunately I live in area surrounded by airports so have to travel further afield. Main reason I'm asking is because DJI screen and Betaflight look different so wondering if there was an easy translation. Really struggling to find my rates in the sim,which I can then translate to my non DJI drones.

Nice video my friend but you have a rates for avata 1? Or is the same with avata 2?
@nigno213 ай бұрын
I have a simple question: any rates sets can avoid the washout problem in Avata 2? Have you sperimented it?
@NJ-Tech3 ай бұрын
@nigno21 you can't tune out propwash with rates. You need access to P and D gains to tune for that which DJI don't give you access to. In my powerloops video I talk about how to fly to correctly avoid propwash. Have a look at that 👍
@brandon96899 ай бұрын
I'm curious to see how this thing handles a trippy spin? Its pretty light on yaw i believe, but then again I'm not always consistent with doing them in a sim.
@NJ-Tech9 ай бұрын
Any quad like this with propgaurds or ducts generally don't do yaw manoeuvres very well, and best avoided. I have done a few inverted yaws but they never exit well and can drop an arm. For a consumer drone, its very good though!

Would welcome your inout on what rate range would suit indoor drone tours, have my cinelog 30 dialled in but the avata2 has no throttle expo and even with a 5 camera angle its still lively flying through a house. I need gentle curves when turning which is a roll and yaw combo. i keep experimenting but i’ve not found a sweet spot yet, its just too fast at times.
@NJ-Tech8 ай бұрын
Why wouldn't you choose to fly in normal mode for house tours? Slef levelling and throttle response are all much easier to handle indoors in normal mode. Most of the people doing house tours professionally use normal mode for this. If you do want to fly manual then 0 degrees on the camera (remember the vertical FOV of the camera is enough even at 0) and increase your exponential curves to a high level to make inputs easier in tight spaces.
@gimbalair8 ай бұрын
@@NJ-Tech because compared to the floatiness of a decent whoop it looks boring and does not turn buttery smooth. Also 0 camera angle limits my ability to fly backwards out of set of doors to do a reveal as I fly away and up.

@NJ-TechАй бұрын
@bender06160 if you search back through my videos I have a bunch of tutorials on manoeuvres. I think I have a livestock using liftoff where I go through orbits and how to move through front, inward and reverse orbits. If I have time later I'll link it for you. All the same principles for the AV2

@NJ-Tech9 ай бұрын
@extremexrdeutschland8704 unfortunately in Europe (CE mode) the avata 2 has been speed restricted. There is a way to turn the restriction off by using the HAM hack. If you do some research you'll see its very easy to do by just placing a file on the goggle SD card.

Is this also called PID adjustment?
@NJ-Tech6 ай бұрын
@specialagentzeus hi there. No, PID adjustment is an adjustment of the gains of the controller: The Proportional, integral and Derivative gains. This is something on all custom built quads we are used to tuning and really helps dial in the Quads flught characteristics but sadly DJI don't give us any control over this.
