I’ve wanted to say this for a long time, because I felt it, but I was able to formulate it only now: the voices blend so well because they seem to embrace everything. Bobby's voice is pure art, it's hard to believe that he can sound so academic and captivating, as if hugging you with velvet. Jonathan's voice is like the power of the nature's elements - it is something from thunder and wind, storm and crashing waves. and Colm’s voice for me personally is a man in all his feelings, from tenderness in love and laughter in joy to combat rage and deep sorrow. Dear God, I want to listen to you guys forever.

The lyrics, for anyone who wants a copy posted here: The world was young, the mountains green, No stain yet on the Moon was seen, No words were laid on stream or stone When Durin woke and walked alone. He named the nameless hills and dells; He drank from yet untasted wells; He stooped and looked in Mirrormere, And saw a crown of stars appear, As gems upon a silver thread, Above the shadows of his head. The world was fair, the mountains tall, In Elder Days before the fall Of mighty kings in Nargothrond And Gondolin, who now beyond The Western Seas have passed away: The world was fair in Durin's Day. A king he was on carven throne In many-pillared halls of stone With golden roof and silver floor, And runes of power upon the door. The light of sun and star and moon In shining lamps of crystal hewn Undimmed by cloud or shade of night There shone for ever fair and bright. There hammer on the anvil smote, There chisel clove, and graver wrote; There forged was blade, and bound was hilt; The delver mined, the mason built. There beryl, pearl, and opal pale, And metal wrought like fishes' mail, Buckler and corslet, axe and sword, And shining spears were laid in hoard. Unwearied then were Durin's folk; Beneath the mountains music woke: The harpers harped, the minstrels sang, And at the gates the trumpets rang. The world is grey, the mountains old, The forge's fire is ashen-cold; No harp is wrung, no hammer falls: The darkness dwells in Durin's halls; The shadow lies upon his tomb In Moria, in Khazad-dûm. But still the sunken stars appear In dark and windless Mirrormere; There lies his crown in water deep, Till Durin wakes again from sleep.

that little smirk on Colm's face when he hits that "smote" at 3:01... He knows he's got the range for it.

This sound of these men deep voices takes my Soul back to our ancient days and my eyes fill with tears for missing something only my Soul remembers but my physical body of this time feels the twinge of pain

While not the lowest voice to my knowledge, the fullness and quality to Young's voice stands out again and again to me.

As much as i love Jonathan's Rock/Metal Covers... hearing him sing that way in that deep voice is soo good, i'd like to hear more stuff like that. But Colm and Bobby are singing just as perfect as usual!

Just I like it. The voices of bass are voices of men. Congrats group.😊

Voices fit for great mountain halls. There’s something about the Dwarves that remembers better days, yet unlike the Elves hold out hope that better days will come again. And that feels so much more human, to our deep delving kin! 🍺
@user-ow2ln3pw7d Жыл бұрын
Well Dwarves are more "down to earth" ;D ! But yes I do agree with what you said, Elves are like the " role model student" , although fascinating, beautifull and loyal, their un-aging and viewing themselves as the best race ( for most of them) is what makes them slightly less relatable to us humans, whilst the Dwarves while Blunt and not the most polite folk in the outerlayer are deep down more complex than one may think, at least they were... Also unlike Elves they benefit from long life spans yes but eventually even they will wither and die..their pleasure for more daily things such as good food & booze makes them somewhat relatable and their shorter yet sturdy stature making them a bit clumsy is also a characteristic that somewhat lightens the mood in some darker moments !

Elves are the favoured firstborn of creation, whereas Dwarves are the unexpected byblows that survived against the odds to flourish. They are dour, defiant, take no shit, and grab hold of what they want with both hands. Definitely kindred souls to us lowly Manfolk.

On the note of LotR songs I think it would be cool to hear a your interpretation of some Clamavi de profundis songs like “the song of hammer deep”, “when the hammer falls” and “the ents marching song”
@meleardil Жыл бұрын
The ents! I just wanna hear how deep they can go. :) That song is an excellent test of it. I want all whipped cream collapse into butter in a 100 mile radius when I am listening to it!

Великолепные голоса. Один светится романтикой, другой опытом и надёжностью, а третий решительностью и солёным ветром.

This sounds great! Now I wonder how it would sound if they also invited Geoff Castellucci and Avi Kaplan. What an epic bass quintet that would be! 😀

I am so glad I found this video! I found Clamavi De Profundis years ago, but the channel only had two songs at that point. I was new to KZbin and didn't know to subscribe or maybe it wasn't a feature back then, but I lost track of their channel. I bought the two songs they had and often played them until other songs took their place in the rotation. Just going by what I see, it looks like it was somewhere around a year before another song was posted, but I didn't know about it.
