To make reloading a bit easier, maybe you could try putting a torsion spring on the hinge that opens the breech. That way, when you unlock the breech, it simply opens up on its own. Just a suggestion though

Captain Xavier Spiffy adapter, Cap'n. Did you, by chance, try double-loading each chamber with half-darts? A few weeks back Make.Test.Battle. did a video where they used that trick quite successfully on an upgraded Hammershot, allowing it to fire each chamber twice before reloading. If you could get TWO shots per cylinder, this beast would be just that much cooler. On the subje t of other adapters: Could you make an absolver that can fire a stack of five or so Vortex disks per shot? You should be able to make shells from ABS or PVC with your Dremel and some glue easily enough, but I don't know how well they'd fire in groups... The performance might not justify the work involved. I never spent any real time with Vortex blasters, so I just don't know. Unrelated, but equally important: Thanks for the assist finding those parts, Cap'n. They are going to make possible a couple body mods for a cosplay load-out which I was starting to think were just a pipe dream. There will be a thank-you package in the mail around the second week of January. (I'd send it sooner, but some of what's going in said package won't be ready until after the Wife and I take our holiday trip.)
@wadekirby85757 жыл бұрын
My first thought when you started talking about Beret was "Have you thought about pulling the dart pegs from a shell to see how it will shoot 10 half-darts in one burst to make an anti-beret specialty shell?" Might it work like a bird shot shell, smaller pellets that scatter more but don't go as far? If you make half-darts from different dart stock wouldn't they have different flight characteristics? Would elites scatter more than others? Do the games you go to allow homemade darts? The yellow cylinder foam ear plugs shoot pretty far in stock form and are about 1/3 dart length. They use a high density foam for mass/weight and tumble through the air for more scattering effect. They'r too expensive for use as ammo but serve as inspiration. If you made short slugs with the weight in the middle you should get similar aerodynamic properties. And 15 scattering pellets should be hard to dodge. I'm pretty sure the reason MTB's two shots per chamber trick worked was the 3D printed cylinder had too much 'barrel drag' for two half-darts to overcome. (That's likely not going to work with a stock cylinder.)

@aidencaterwall91467 жыл бұрын
A 6-10 round pump action drum magazine that uses the same hammershot cylinders. Might have to have more air tanks or pumps to maintain the increased rate of fire. You could change the latch to go the other way. Instead of the spring loaded part being on the front, put it on the back. You can then spring load the swinging arm. When you pull the lever, it'll spring open. You reload it and then push it closed.
@slagle927 жыл бұрын
Have you considered an M203 underbarrel launcher? Spring loaded open and either an compressor (like Eir has) or possibly a springer that is primed as it is closed. Maybe it could shoot Sledgfire shells or a small rocket. Or both.

Hmm, ideally you would want a button like a shotgun break. I'm having trouble finding a button latch that would fit the needs. How about a cupboard twist latch? One that would auto latch on close, but to open you just need to twist the handle. This would prevent the need to break focus down range to properly index the bolt lock. All while giving you a larger handle for both unlocking the chamber, and opening it.
@jediknight12947 жыл бұрын
A multi ball shell for real using a mega cylinder is my first thought, I also have an idea to speed ejection if you're interested

There is a really good latch for this too tired right now but I'll try to draw it uptomorrow if i cant find a version of it basicly its 2 pins and a spring loaded T lever. I have an idea for an attachment. So if you have a cycloneshock cylinder or maybe a rotofury cylinder, you could use some pvc pipe placed inside each place in the cylinder, with the same inner diameter as rival rounds. Then place 5 or so balls in each tube and place the cylinder on a spindle of some kind mounted just below the mazooka so that one tube seals with the mazooka at at time. Then after each shot, manually rotate the cylinder to get the next tube ready to fire. 6 shot rival shotgun revolver with 5+ rounds per shot. Lovely. If the back of each tube is exposed you could rear load balls as you go so you never run out of ammo loaded
@InventorZahran6 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, Rival balls and Mega darts are the same diameter, so PVC might not even be necessary... Either way, you've got a good idea!

@CaptainXavier7 жыл бұрын
+Matt Harding no good. If it were strong enough to hold it would be too strong to easily reload. Can't have it both ways.
@riotxcore61087 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, i figured using the fulcrum of the lever would be enough to easily snap them apart since the force of the shot would be going forward while the action of reloading would be going to the side, using the lever and require less force. Maybe if you continued the bars forward beyond the barrel for an inch or two as a sort of reloading handle would let you have more force on the fulcrum for pulling apart but still letting you use strong enough magnets that it stays together for the shot. That way your hand will already be in front of the barrel to push the clip out too.
