Is it not UNIT for the truss anymore? And will it auto convert if I open older showfiles from when it used to be UNIT?

The Unit field functionality of trusses used up to 2023 has now been replaced with the Location field to match the Location field of the fixtures. Older projects can be used in Capture 2024 with no issues, as the Location field of the truss parts is automatically filled upon opening.
