Pure photography videos like this usually don't get a lot of views and KZbin doesn't like to promote. But I really love photography and I would love to do more videos like this. If you enjoy this video and want to support me and see more videos like this, please give this video a like, comment or share it with your friends. And maybe you can also let me know which photo you like or don't like :). (There is a number for each photo)

I loved this! You should do more videos like this. It's always very interesting to hear photographers talk about their work, and I appreciate the self-criticism - though I disagree with some of your disliked photos. 😂The one at 8:09 I really love the composition of! The laundry photo was my favourite. Great work.

thank you so much Dylan! Oh so I finally found one person that loves my laundry photo haha thank you very much!

Thanks for sharing. I find this much more interesting than gear talk and it's sad that this kind of content usually doesn't get views. It was interesting to see how you photograph and I really liked your style too.
@TheRealRichardWongАй бұрын
Hey Matti! Thanks for watching, it's funny as I was just watching a few of your videos just last night after I published this video! I guess we all aware of how gear videos just get a lot more views, sometimes I feel like we forgot why we want to buy a camera in the first place. It doesn't really bother me too much to be honest, and I will still make more photography videos as I truly enjoy it myself at least :D I like that you also do some photography focus videos on your channel as well, i learned a few things from your videos!

I loved lots of these photos Richard and it made me miss Taipei, having been for years! I saw the comment that you ended up grading these in Lightroom… would be great see a video on your process for these I loved the vibe, slightly soft blacks and cinematic tones.

Hi Richard, I enjoyed this review video format, it's very instructive. I liked the photo outside the hotel at 3:25 with the vending machines on the left. The contrast between the dark and the light really works for me. And I also liked the first laundromat photo at 9:17. I am a bit like you, strangely drawn to laundromats. Aside from the commercial machines, they often have other interesting objects like signs and notice board, a washing powder vending machine, plastic baskets, a bit of furniture, old magazines and papers etc.
@TheRealRichardWong29 күн бұрын
Yes Pete, i think you described why I love laundromats!! There are a lot of very interesting things happening there.

I really like the photo at 12:39. The colour grading is nice and I like the halation on the lights. Did you use any kind of filter for achieving this halation effect?
@TheRealRichardWongАй бұрын
thank you! Yes i used a K&F Black mist filter for this set of photos

Thanks for sharing Richard! I love the variety of your content. Hoping you’ll post more photowalk videos! How was your trip to Taiwan? That hotel looks cool, especially when all the small shops haven’t opened yet and that entire ground floor be lighted by a few street lights.

thank you! Yes i would love to post more photowalk videos. Just need to find time to do more haha The trip to Taiwan was awesome! Went to many places and ate many delicious food during our short stay there. The hotel is pretty different. I think some people might not like it at all, but i also found it very interesting. The location is awesome too.

Interesting images Richard. I see that you're using the x-pan aspect ratio. Are the images straight from camera? Did you just rely on the Real Time Luts for the colors?
@TheRealRichardWongАй бұрын
Thank you! For this video, I've used Lightroom to colour grade the photos as I wasn't really happy with the LUT I chose originally. But you can checkout my Osaka photo walk video kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKqvZIWNe5aqjaMsi=9dLdRR_xU17kzSkF Those are unedited JPG from camera using real time LUT

Nice shots Richard. I feel that most of the photos seem to be a bit too dark/underexposed to me, but not sure why.
@TheRealRichardWongАй бұрын
hey Ryan thanks!! I did intentionally underexpose the photos a bit to make the photos a bit more moody and match the early morning look. But i'm hoping it's not "TOO" dark. Maybe because I'm doing the edit/viewing on a Mac computer and maybe you use a Windows machine so with different gamma. Does anyone also feel the photos are too dark? Let me know! and hey are you the Ryan i know? :D

Hi Richard, ah I see, good to know that it’s not just my eyes phew~. I actually viewed your video on my Macbook Pro M1 Pro 16 inch so should be fine. Yes, this is the Ryan that you know typing HAHA, and I think I was one of the early subscribers to this channel. Keep up the good work! Richard, your photos look fine, mate. As a long time GH user since 2010, 8 bodies + AF 101 I'm saddened by the fact that I cannot find a comprehensive description of my GH7 menu system, like how to navigate the menu, how to add items to "MY Menu", how to track key features for video & photos, I viewed your description of settings for video, thank you, however i would really appreciate a run down on the basics of the menu Can you help out. Cheers 🙏

thank you Ron, sorry i do not have a GH7 menu guide I can share with you.

What is the crop factor if I use any of the electronic stabilisers? I'm wondering if the ibis is already good enough.
@WildridefilmsАй бұрын
EIS standard is about a 10% crop. EIS high is about a 40% crop. The IBIS alone is good enough beyond 30mm. Below 30mm, you can get some "wobble" which is corrected by the EIS very well, so I would use the EIS standard setting below 30mm.
@TheRealRichardWongАй бұрын
yes i think what @Wildridefilms said is pretty much what my answer would be. the IBIS is good enough for most situtation. But for anything wide,, i would enable EIS standard to minimise the corner wobble. I am assuming you are talking about video mode as eletronic stabilisation doesn't work with photos.

Nice scenery, Richard. I have a question, is there a lot of times when you use the S9 and your flicker becomes an issue?
@TheRealRichardWongАй бұрын
Thank you! I only have very few photos got flickering issue. But i do tend to shoot at slower shutter speed at night so i think it depends on your shooting style as well
@JajajajaneeАй бұрын
Hi Richard, what anamorphic squeeze factor will be best to have most coverage vertically on a 3:2 sensor?
@TheRealRichardWongАй бұрын
It really depends on what output aspect ratio you want or the look you want. The Squeeze factor * 1.5:1 would be the aspect ratio of the output video if you shooting in open gate mode, For example if you go for a 1.8 squeeze factor, you get 2.7:1
