Thanks for the tour! I could spend most of the day there. Many many years ago, Nikon had a similar space displaying all their equipment in New York City. It was called Nikon House. I spent a lot of time there dreaming as a beginning gearhead teenager!

Looks like great fun! The prototypes reveal the huge influence of Contax technology on early Nikon cameras including the F.
@TheRealRichardWong2 ай бұрын
yes definitely! The rangefinders were when Nikon still heavily inspired by western camera designs.
@Democratiser2 ай бұрын
@@TheRealRichardWong As you might be aware, Germany’s patents were voided as part of its WWII reparations hence why Russia was able to copy Leica, Contax, Zeiss and other cameras and lenses (and even uplift the whole factory in the case of Contax) and the Japanese were also able to use the designs. Obviously the Japanese companies were much better at continuously innovating and evolving the technology.
@TheRealRichardWong2 ай бұрын
@@Democratiser I actually didn't know that! I was wondering about that thanks for the info!

That's so cool. We went to the old Nikon Museum back in February before they closed the old location. Sadly, I left my Nikon cameras at home and brought an action camera because there was rain in the forecast and I wanted to travel light. I hope to visit the new Nikon Museum the next time we visit Japan but that won't be until 2026.

@eyeswideopen5652 ай бұрын
@@TheRealRichardWong I’ve never been there but very interested in going. It’s has a service centre, showroom and gallery for Nikon users. I’ve read the showroom allows you to try Nikon cameras and lenses. The service centre doesn’t cleaning and repairs but by appointment based. If you have time you should check it out, maybe make a video? :) haha

I just remember I have visited their shop/showroom in Ginza few years ago, would that be similar to this one in Shinjuku? yes i'll see if i have a chance to visit it and maybe create a video about it!
