It has it's flaws (more filler tracks to fill the void for a entire lenght of an album than an actual "flaw") but for the context of Trivium at the time (20 years old boys after receiveing world praise for "Ascendancy" now dealing with the pressure for the perfect sequence) this album is outstading album IMO. The first three tracks have riffs and solos for a an entire catalogue, it's a fresh and pure trash album in the middle of the bomming of Metalcore scene at the time. People didn't accept that such younglings could've achived and done what they did back at that time... The Crusade rules! Sorry for the little rant

I met Corey's dad. Never got a chance to meet Corey. His dad was super cool, gave me a signed poster, picks from Corey. Told me a few stories of when the band got together. When Corey auditioned, Matt turned to his father and said "dad, this guy is better than I am"

Love your channel and content. You have helped me in so many ways. From how to run a pedal chain to how to get a killer metal tone. I recently got a 5153 combo similar to yours and your videos helped me out tremendously. Also would never had ever bought a eq pedal if it wasn't for your videos. Wow does a simple eq pedal make all the difference in the world. Anyways a huge thank you for the amazing content. Keep it up

Always loved the guitars and riffs on this album. I remember reading at the time they used JCM 2000s with boosts and Dimebag Razorback guitars with Dimebuckers. Great tone.

Really under appreciated album and I love that you covered it. In high school, I got into Trivium right before Shogun came out, but Ascendancy is what I heard first. A friend gave me The Crusade CD cause he completely wrote them off after that. He was so displeased with it but I thoroughly enjoyed that record. Within a very short period of time I was exposed to 3 completely different sides of Trivium and loved every bit of it.

Nice surprise to see some Trivium on the channel! Kinda half wanted some seven string riffs too haha Edit: not 100% sure but I think I remember Matt saying this album was recorded with a Bogner Ubershall - and apparently this was the only Trivium album to not use a variant of the 5150

You’ve got a great ear for reproducing sounds man. Have you seen the pq4 clone pedal from db effects I think it is? I found them on reverb. They also have a Randall century preamp pedal and Flanger-Doubler I’ve been wanting to pick both of those up since I’ve gotten the eqfh pq3 clone pedal. The guy that makes em has demos on KZbin. But it’s so hard choosing which pedal to save up for and go after.
