People dressed so much more stylishly then. I guess back then they had decent shops. Most have now gone.

They relocated the market to build the civic centre, the replacement had hand washing facilities, and brick stalls plus an indoor market, all now demolished and relocated again. It's not even worth visiting. It's a shadow of the former glory it once was. It's assumed everyone has a car. There's only Iceland and Mark's and Spencers left to do a food shop. I don't agree with Tesco express and their extortionate prices. All the other supermarkets are outside the ring road. It's a dump.

How bad mate? I was born there in 1979..lived just outside but left in 87. I have great memories but will confess I ain't been to the centre since a kid. I can only imagine its changed so much, culturally I assume
