The pub at the end of the clip was my home- 'Fox Inn', North Street, my parents ran the old place for over 40 years- great and evocative memories and wonderful music that compliments the imagery so well- Thanks again (I am in tears, really means so very very much to me).

A lovely video accompanied by nostalgia-inducing music, Jayne, that's deserving of my appreciation. As a Wulfrunian in my late 50's, I'm dismayed to see so many buildings of architectural importance and historical significance now missing from the City Centre. In their place, we now have the strangulating Ring Road and Civic Centre - a building that is not only highly uninspiring, but also interferes with the former, rather sedate view of St. Peter's. What a terrible loss those wonderful, old buildings are to the City. The Council bigwigs responsible for rubber-stamping such architectural carnage are guilty of gross negligence and dereliction of duty. After all, once you lose your birthright, you've lost everything. It's all very sad.

I could not agree more, and to see the former iconic Springfield brewery falling apart is heart breaking. There seems to be a total lack of sympathy with the character and identity of our old towns and cities, an unholy disconnect with the past. I sometimes wonder if this is deliberate!
