You can check your blend door motor which is usually under your steering wheel, if it gets stuck your air will only blow either hot or cold.

Now to find out why it leaked out, this is just a bandaid sometimes, sometimes you get lucky.

Bout where I'm at, bub. 😄 Spent $160 at Valvoline, more or less just to have them run a test w their fancy machine to hopefully tell me if something else was wrong. Wanted to make sure it got done right w me taking my mom to the doctor and taking her to run errands too. Thing is, they can test for leaks (not sure how accurate that may be), but they can't tell if your compressor is shot or if there are any other issues. Wish I would have paid an extra 40 now at a local quick shop now. As they would prob do more extensive testing.

As as old as that vehicle is and the mileage,it's quite normal for the R12 to dissipate if it has never been serviced in the past..it's a closed system..but not 100% pressure tight..

My 2006 acura tl AC is now blowing hot air. I have owned the car since may 2007 and no problems with AC at all until few weeks ago it started blowing hot air a few times and then cold. However past 2 days only hot air.. Do you think this is issue that it needs refrigerant?

Almost exact problem as my 1991 obs Silverado, sounds like the most likely answer but I’m not 100% so I’ll wait until someone responds

Hey you ever figure it out? Same thing happened with my 08 tsx, and it wasn’t the refrigerant.

They want to run a dye test on your compressor: $105 just for that; cost them about $10 and then they'll replace your compressor for over $600 and maybe there's nothing wrong your compressor. Sad the world we live in today. So steal from people and sleep fine. Well they won't when they meet their Maker on judgement day.

Yeah good thing I found a trustworthy mechanic. Fixed things that other hack weasel “ mechanics “ messed up .. at very reasonable price too . This hack fucked up my engine timing and wouldn’t take responsibility. 😡 then other hacks saying it was this or that ..😡 more money lost . Finally this very trustworthy old mechanic knew what was wrong just by me cranking it over a couple seconds.. charged me $190 and he had to order special tool a locking pin for it but didn’t charge extra.

This other time he took out his uv flashlight and found out the leaks on my AC system. Took less than two minutes.

The kit I bought said to fill to x amount of pressure depending on the ambient temperature so would I need to recharge when the engine is cool?

Did the air conditioning have a leak or do these just need refilling from time to time ... Kind Regards
@veryloudcrepes3956 Жыл бұрын
Depends how old the car is, sometimes the hoses can leak, the condenser can leak, sometimes the compressor too. If you’re not very mechanical I would ask a mechanic to to do a recovery then a vacuum test for a leak or Uv light the hoses and condenser to find a leak.

Put some PAG oil in system 2oz, they all leak at compressor shaft seal. If you see oil at compressor it leaks out at lowest point this with save it from failing. The compressor will thank you, 2 oz won't hurt, you can buy a walmart 2oz charge can, put in first followed by a squirt of 134A. Or buy PAG oil and pour 2oz into hoses and put 134A in behind it.

Im glad i found this comment as i was looking around for an answer, today i tool the ac clutch and coil off my 2006 odyssey and found some green liquid around it, it doesn’t seem like its leaking or scattering at all just enough around the compressor shaft and bearings, is this something i be worried about or should i just top off the oil as you mentioned?

still a newbie when it comes to ac ,so even though the ac clutch wasn't spinning,when the hose got attached the low pressure valve that activated the clutch?

Hey, i need advice. I’ve already done this, worked for about a week. And then literally all my vents started blowing hot air EXCEPT one, with the refrigerant being at a perfect rate. Any knowledge on why this is happening?
@SanchoPanza-wg5xfАй бұрын
There's a little plastic piece inside each vent, actuated by a solenoid, which is used to limit airflow. One has broken. It's a very expensive replacement. Cheaper to stuff a sock in the malfunctioning vent than to tear apart the dashboard and fix the problem.

Hold the can UPRIGHT, you don't want liquid in the system, you want the gas form.

Its compresses into a liquid wtf r u talking abt lol u have to have liquid refrigerant at the txv for the ac to even get cold.. u cant have gas only cuz it wld be extremely extremely low🤨
